This is the first top-view area map I draw. I’m really happy with the result. The 1 km scale makes it very convenient to explore, even in a one-shot scenario, PCs can walk from town to town in a few hours. It lends perfectly for low-level work like escorting merchants from town to town. Exploring old ruins in the forests or mountains, working for the army in the fort and so on.

I have included two versions of this map in the PDF, one with name tags I invented. You can use this map when PCs visit a new area. Another version of the map has no tags, in case you want or need to use your own area names, depending on your campaign.

Well done. I'm happy to see you trying new things. I love all the one-shot stuff you do. It really adds a lot of detail to my homebrew campaign.

Thanks Aaron ! I figure most people find it hard to play an ongoing campaign so most go back to one-shots a lot. I think a lot of people can benefit from one shot stuff :)

So I keep coming back to this map. It's amazing. I can look at it and say "I see an entire low level campaign here." Do you think you might ever add to this? Closer dives on the settlements as far as artwork is concerned? I don't think I personally need more detail than just buildings or a few features, but the details are yours to decide.

Wow Patrick ! It surprises me. I thought this map had been overseen and ignored by most. Being the only area map among "dungeon" maps. I hadn't planned anything more to it but now that you mention it, it's not a bad idea at all. I have many BIG plans for 2017 and this is a great one too. Maybe what I can do is zoom in on the different settlements and write a level 1-4 adventure arch that links them.
