623 The Innkeeper's Secret (Patreon)

Denizens of the Tower! In The Innkeeper's Secret, a group of level-2 adventurers stumbles upon a strange situation at a local inn. It appears that several lone individuals have disappeared near the place. The son of a rich noble was targeted recently, which prompted the man to offer a hefty reward for his son's rescue.

The adventurers shall find out that truth is stranger than fiction when they uncover the innkeeper's eerie intentions and the identity of those behind the disappearances. It appears that a cabal of drow practitioners has access to the inn's basement. Their foul, nefarious goals have shaped recent events.

This level 2 adventure brings the heroes to an inn/tavern with a terrible secret, confronts them with a terrible threat from the Underworld, and gives them the chance to earn region-wide renown.

Here's a close-up of the inn's main chamber. Bernard, the innkeeper, is usually behind the bar serving clients and telling stories.
