“Master Diviner.”

The voice yanked Fu Xuan out of the thought she was having. And the instant it had left her mind, it was gone for good, causing a heavy sigh to leave her. “What is it, Jing Yuan? Is it important?”

“Very much so. As your General…” There was an odd amount of emphasis on that word as it was said to her, almost as if he was silently calling attention to their difference in roles. “... I think it’s time you finally got some much-needed rest. You’ve been running on fumes for a few days now. And since the… Emergency is now over, I think it is a perfect time.”

For a moment, Fu Xuan couldn’t believe her ears. Of course, Jing Yuan wasn’t wrong. With everything that happened due to the stellaron crisis, Kafka, the Trailblazers, and the cleanup that came from it, she was indeed running on fumes. But to hear him of all people suggesting that she rest? “General, you’re usually the one telling me to do something for you. Whether that would be because you are lazy or you just have some form of thinking beyond even that of Divination, I have yet to--”

“Fu Xuan.”

Having him cut her off like that, she could only nod her head and roll her eyes. “Fine fine. There’s never really a point to argue with you anyway. How long can you keep things running without me?”

“A few days. If you expect me to stretch it, possibly a week.”

“In that case… I’ll return whenever I feel ready.”

********************************************

It took no more than a few hours for Fu Xuan to grow a bit restless in her own home and decide to leave. Of course, being a woman in her standing, there were going to be people who would stop her for one reason or another. Most people in the Xianzhou were respectful of her time and space, but if they saw her out and about, a few might get the wrong idea. So, against her better judgment, she decided to wear something outside of her comfort zone in the hopes that people wouldn’t notice who she really was.

When she stepped out of her home, Fu Xuan was dressed in a hooded purple half-jacket with fur around the hood. She had a dark pink crop top on, and a pair of purple skin-tight pants to match the jacket that she was in. “Qinque might not be the best worker, but I cannot deny that she understands fashion better than I do…”

A gentle smile came to her lips as she roamed the streets for the first time in what felt like ages. It had been far too long since she was gifted with the sight of the Luofu’s lights above her, and the people roaming the streets. Some groups went from bar to bar as they tried to enjoy their night. Of course, some were clearly still in disbelief over the stellaron crisis, but it seemed that most of the people were enjoying themselves. Now if only she could join them, properly letting go and relaxing like she recognized she needed to to.

However, that desire only drove Fu Xuan to continue walking through the streets with no real aim. There wasn’t anything that was particularly on her mind that she wanted to do. There was no restaurant that she wanted to eat at. And there was nothing that she craved doing now that she was given a few days to rest. Though, deep down, she knew that it would be best to eat something while was out and about.

“Maybe I can go to one of those places that Qinque keeps getting caught a--”

Fu Xuan quickly found herself cut off by the feeling of a man’s hand touching her rear end, prompting her to turn around and face him. In the heat of the moment, there was a spark of lust as her body craved the touch. But when she turned around and face-planted directly into the man’s dark abs, the Master Diviner simply froze in place. Were there really people like this on the Xianzhou? People who would openly grab a woman’s ass, only to be close enough that she couldn’t confront him?

As that thought went through her mind, Fu Xuan felt his other hand grab onto her ass cheeks through the fabric that she was wearing. “H-Hey! Get your hands off--”

“I was looking everywhere for you, girl. I know you said you were inspired by the Master Diviner’s hairstyle, but I didn’t expect you to manage to copy it perfectly.”

The anger in Fu Xuan’s heart quickly subsided at those words. Did he not realize who it was? Unfortunately, before she could try and speak up to tell him that she wasn’t who he thought she was, his lips crashed into hers for a heated kiss. A kiss that left her mind blurred, racing, and the world around her spinning. His tongue swiftly forced its way into her mouth, dominating the kiss and causing her mind to sink into depravity even more. And before she realized it, there was a severe lack of oxygen in her lungs.
