There have been a lot of rumors and legends about a certain game that apparently hit the market some time ago. It just suddenly started to trend among all sorts of guilds, going even so far that some members, that were notorious fighting junkies, skipped on their duties just to play it more. It was apparently that addicting.

To others it was like a whole new world, reachable through a portal in their own game-like world that always seemed to suck them away unexpectedly for a day. They would just open at random, swallow one person and spit them back out at the end of the day. And all victims always wish for the same thing afterwards: To get swallowed up again as soon as possible.

Yet, there was a catch. While this game had many, many positive reviews and tons of people swearing that experiencing it was the best thing to ever happen in their life, no one, not even the players or victims themselves seemed to remember what even happens inside the game. The moment they log off or get spit out, none of their memories of anything inside the game would remain, aside from the intense longing to go back to experience something truly amazing all over again.

And that game’s name is Crossworld Yggdrasil Online - Altering Version, or CYOA for short.

“Master Naofumi? Master Naofumiii~?” Raptalia shouted, looking around the strange looking city, hoping to run into her master sooner rather than later. Though for now she only saw a lot of people she had never met before. “Excuse me! I am looking for the Shield Hero! Has anyone here seen the Shield Hero, Naofumi?”

As expected, not many people reacted to her shout. Most who turned their head did so with a look that easily conveyed ‘Why the heck was this girl shouting?’, which didn't exactly spark confidence in the heart of the young raccoon girl. Though there was one girl that reacted to her shouts and made a beeline towards her, making Raphtalia somewhat hopeful.

“Hey there,” The red headed girl said, greeting Raphtalia casually. “Were you separated from someone too?”

“Y-Yes,” Raphtalia stuttered for a moment, before regaining her composure. “My name is Raphtalia and I am looking for the Shield Hero Naofumi. Have you seen him by chance?”

“I don’t know who that is,” the redhead answered nonchalantly, shocking Raphtalia. It was normal for people to hate him or support him, but not knowing the shield hero was a real rarity after everything that went down. But the redhead scanned Raphtalia top to bottom, then signed and spoke up again. “My name is Erza and I could use your help, to be honest. Do you have a moment to spare to listen to my query?”

“Huh? I mean, I guess…?” Raphtalia blinked a few times, noticing that Erza looked like she was at her wits end too. “What’s up…?”

“Follow me.”

With that, Erza led the way into a pub nearby, making Raphtalia question everything about her, but she did not speak anything out loud. She wanted Erza to explain herself first. And that she did.

“See this little girl in the corner there, playing with the toys of the pub owner?”

“Yes? Is she… a centaur…?” Raphtalia asked to clarify.

“She is and she got separated from her mother. I found her shortly after entering this world and just couldn’t leave her alone,” Erza explained with a sigh. “I brought her here because the barkeep was nice enough to let her be distracted with some toys for now, but I still want to help. And because you are looking for someone too, would you mind helping me keep a lookout for that girl's mother as well?”

“Naturally! There is no way I could leave her behind!” Raphtalia declared, which only made her wonder why she suddenly cared so much for a little girl she had met only moments ago. “Do you have a plan?”

“I was hoping to be able to discuss that with you. Because I myself also have no idea what to do,” Erza sighed, but then flashed a smile as she became visibly more relieved. “Want to talk over a drink?”

“Sure thing,” Raphtalia answered and both of them walked over to the bar and took a seat at a stool. The entire time Raphtalia was still eyeing the centaur girl, trying to remember if she had ever met her before. But she couldn’t come up with anything. That was when…

Bling~

Raphtlia was briefly startled hearing that sound, but then realized that it was just her status magic having been cast. Which was strange, since she hadn’t invoked it, but she decided to check out what it showed her regardless.

“Your role for today has been decided:

Race: Centaur

Occupation: Hero of Justice

Physical traits: Motherly appearance, +++ Chest size

Personality: Ara ara~, Loves Rootbeer.”

“...what?” Raphtalia asked once she had finished reading it. “What does Hero of Justice mean…?”

“Oh, so you got that too.” Erza breathed a knowing sigh, then flashed a smile. “I thought I was the only one who got this weird Centaur Hero of Justice thing.”

“Do you know what it means when-…”

“Hey there ladies, do you want to order some drinks?” the barkeeper suddenly asked, making both girls turn around. And while Raphtalia was still processing the situation, something in the back of her mind came rushing forward, something she had no idea had even been there. Maybe it was a thought planted in her head by her strange status screen, but somehow her mouth just opened by itself and…

“One rootbeer please!” “One rootbeer please,” Erza and Raphtalia practically spoke in unison, making them both look at each other while the barkeeper laughed. “You got it. Be right back, ladies.”

Raphtalia and Erza stared at each other for a little while longer, before Raphtalia too started to giggle. “That was weird. I have never even drank that before. Must have been because I just read about it on my status screen.”

“Similar situation here.” Erza readjusted on her seat, looking at Raphtalia with a clearly forced stoic expression. “Alright, what are we going to do about that little centaur girl? I think her name is Mindy by the way.”

“Should we strategically split up and search different parts of the city?” Raphtalia asked, more to just suggest something to start the conversation.

“Yes, I think we should. If I take the northern part and you take the southern part of the city, we should theoretically find her mother twice as fast,” Erza added, nodding to herself. That's when the barkeeper came once again and delivered the two drinks to the girls. They both shrugged and took the drink without any delay, gulping it down simultaneously.

And it was pure bliss. Raphtalia had never drank something THAT good before. It was like the perfect herbal yet carbonated drink that practically danced down her pipe, causing her to feel much warmer and happier than before. And judging by Erza’s deep red blush, she was thinking the same thing.

“You know, now that I think about it,” Erza started, stretching her arms upwards which caused her chest to jiggle more than Raphtalia expected, though she couldn’t quite put her finger on why she didn’t expect it given her size. Raphtalia wanted to check with her own very strangely warm chest, yet Erza continued and said: “There are a lot of demons in the city lately. I wonder if they have something to do with the kidnapping of Mindy’s mother.”

Kidnapping? Raphtalia didn’t even think about that yet. Her thoughts were all sorts of racing, making her take another big gulp of the Rootbeer, to calm herself down. Though all that really did was make her legs start to tingle, which she chose to ignore because of more pressing matters.

“If that’s the case, then do you think a crime syndicate is behind it? One that kidnaps people and releases demons?” Raphtalia asked, her mouth being faster than her head. Though it all made so much sense to her, it had to be true. That really made her head go into overdrive, barely realizing that her legs had started to thicken and expand dramatically, with her feet slowly but surely fusing together into hard hooves.

“Nah~,” Erza spoke, crossing her furred and hooved legs as she leaned back once again. There was clearly even more bounce in her chest than last time, but Raphtalia was barely paying attention to that. She was just so curious to hear Erza’s theory that she could almost feel her ears getting pulled longer and becoming furry, just to hear her better. “Clearly the work of a demon lord. And if we take him down, then everything will return back to normal.”

“Hmm… I don’t think that's it,” Raphtalia spoke, crossing her arms under her immense bust, making Erza’s furry ears twitch. Then she elaborated: “I don’t think defeating one guy will solve the issue. What about smaller organizations, demon generals or even just people in need? Do you think those would be all resolved just by defeating one guy?”

“Yes, I do. Everyone knows that beating the Demon king saves everyone!” Erza declared, sitting up straight with her hands on her hips, looking down on Raphtalia. Which was strange, because Raphtalia could have sworn that the two of them had been the same size just moments before. In fact, Erza’s spine looked slightly stretched, but Raphtalia really didn’t care. She couldn’t let something like that sit on her.

“No, it does not!” Raphtalia slammed her hands on the table, though then almost lost her grip on it moments later. She didn’t really want to think about how she just slapped the counter, considering her waist was so long she could barely reach it. She wanted to make her point clear to Erza. “It’s about saving people and taking down ALL the bad guys. How do you expect our Mindy to sleep at night knowing that there are still bad guys out there?”

“Ara~? So you are saying that our Mindy could sleep better if we just ignore the Demon king?” Erza giggled, becoming taller than Raphtalia once again. Although fur was clearly starting to spread up the lower part of her long midsection as it became more barrel-shaped.

“I am saying that he shouldn’t be our main priority! Ack!” “Ah!” Raphtalia and Erza gasped simultaneously as two additional limbs sprouted from each of their midsections, both already hooved and furred the moment they pushed out of their bodies. That uncontrolled shaking was also the final straw for both of the stools they were sitting on, and they both collapsed at the same time, which caused each of the hotheaded and newly turned centaurs to crash to the floor with a loud thump.

This naturally attracted the gaze of nearly everyone in the pub, but one’s attention was way more important than the rest.

“Moms… are you fighting again?” Mindy asked, slowly trotting over where the two grown women were sitting. Erza and Raphtalia looked at each other, then briefly burst into laughter, before standing up from the ground. Raphtalia started brushing off their clothes, not realizing that what was left of her armor slowly started to melt into what looked like a skimpy superhero costume, perfectly skin tight and fitted for her.

“Ara ara~! Mindy, my dear, it wasn’t anything of that sort,” Raphtalia cooed, kneeling down on her front two legs as she started to pat the little centaurs head. “We were just having a heated discussion about what sort of awesome thing we are going to do next. That's all.”

“Exactly, my love,” Erza joined in, also kneeling down to see eye to eye with Mindy. She also brushed off the armor she wore on her upper body, not noticing that it quickly became much more revealing and impractical looking. Yet it did a lot to emphasize her bigger-than-her-own-head-sized bust, which she happily jiggled as she continued: “Discussing how to save the world can sometimes be difficult, you know?”

“Okay!” Mindy beamed a smile back to the two grown centaurs, causing both of their hearts to almost explode out of their chests. Seeing their child smile like that was truly a feeling that Raphtalia couldn’t even hope to put into words. Mindy then added: “But no more breaking chairs, okay? That is not how a proper hero should act!”

“Ahaha…” Both of them had the exact same reaction, then looked over at the two stools they had just broken. Raphtalia didn’t even remember how that happened, but it would probably be a good idea to be more careful in the future.

“We promise,” Erza said, briefly looking at Raphtalia before looking back at Mindy and flashing a big smile. “So can you also promise us to behave at uncle Stephan’s place while we go out working? The bad guys out there aint going to catch themselves~”

“I promise~!” little Mindy smiled, when both centaurs stood back up, ready to take off into the city.

“Hey ladies, you can’t just leave like that~,” Stephan suddenly spoke up, making both centaurs turn around to look at him. That's when he grinned and said: “After only one Rootbeer? Who are you and what have you done to our beloved heroes? How should that give you enough energy to defeat anyone?”

“Ara~ Are you implying something?” Erza asked mischievously.

“Ara ara~ I think he has ulterior motives~” Raphtalia giggled.

“And I think that I might give you this next drink on the house, should you promise to bring back a big catch by tonight!” Stephan grinned, placing two refilled mugs on the counter, which immediately caught both of their attention. Then they giggled and happily trotted back to the counter where the man was waiting.

“You know us too well~” Raphtalia giggled, grabbing her mug.

“What a dangerous promise~” Erza grabbed hers as well, with a big smile on her face.

It seemed like they weren’t leaving for hero duty for a little while longer. But one thing became abundantly clear, as Raphtalia downed another mug of her absolute favorite drink in the world: Being a beloved Hero of Justice certainly had its perks. Especially if you could back it up with incredible feminine charm.

FIRST!!! 😈 but seriously I love how the story came out. From the Two becoming friends, to girlfriends(romance literally), to wives with a kid. I love it.
