If you did the math and thought something was off you are right. Kaylee should be about three years old in this episode. That was clearly a stylistic choice more than anything, as it gives them more options for those scenes. Even some of the dialogue about her seems intended for a younger person. Like how she isn't quite sure what happened/etc. It doesn't bother me though and I'm not sure how much most people even think about that sort of thing. I love this episode and it really adds some crackle to the middle of the first season. Banks was nominated for this performance. Genuinely terrific acting not just from him but also from Kerry Condon. (who was recently nominated for an oscar btw)

This episode was soooo good omg, Jonathan banks was absolutely phenomenal in this, love the slow pace like you said (: Best episode of the show so far by a long shot! Oh yeah and in regards to when you asked when Mike was introduced, it was shortly after Jane died as he came to Jesse and told him what to say to the cops when they arrived
