I've loved rewatching this one with ya, cant wait for these last three

Forgot how fun watching this show for the first time was! Looking back on it now, I definitely see more of the flaws (and unfortunately a certain group of fans pretty much refuses to see what Wanda did to this town as wrong just because she eventually let them go :c) but there's really so much good stuff here, especially in episode 8!

kaiielle

Yes, I firmly believe Wanda was/is on her villain arc and what she did to the town was def the start of it. I still hope Wanda will use her powers for some good in the future, but I can't help but feel like she's gonna be a villain. Keep in mind I have no idea about Scarlet Witch from the comics and what she does or what kind of character she is in those and been avoiding details on that.

You've outdone yourself this time. Now on to the next series? Not having seen mention of it in previous comments, I remember Agatha saying that the power Wanda used to create the "Westview anomaly" was so strong that Agatha felt it and became curious about who and what caused it. I, too, place this show high on my MCU list.

Thadman

Your Agatha questions about where/how she's living in Westview, I assume, will be answered in her series (which hasn't come out yet). I believe it will be called "Coven of Chaos" or "Agatha Harkness: Coven of Chaos." I wouldn't spoil any story things, even if I knew them. I think it was supposed to be released later this year, but who knows with the actor/writers strikes.

Your theory about agatha just being a projection of wanda's denial was different and not at all what I expected, and then the continued denial about her being a witch made me laugh so much before you were like: oh, wait... maybe she is LOL. Also agree with you her getup with the little crown headpiece looked sick af Loved Wandavision and how unique and interesting the style was, and your reactions to them as well. I can't wait for you to watch falcon and winter soldier next seeing as how you like more of the grounded storylines like I do!

kaiielle

I've edited that part of my reaction already and don't worry, I was cackling at myself during it. I am the Queen of Denial. Yes, I'm super stoked for it too! It's gonna be epic!

Been waiting to make this pointless comment since the Dr Strange reaction: Rewatching Dr Strange after WandaVision, and I’m realizing that in the post-credits scene she could be considered to be doing the same kind of astral projection-y stuff that goes on throughout that movie. No clue if that’s on purpose or just a coincidence though. I’ve barely touched the MCU after this because my wife lost interest, so I’m hypeeeeed to keep goin!

Great reaction as usual. I lowkey envy the fact that you got to watch this so long after it's release and without knowing much lore on the characters. When it first came out, a huge part of social media called the Agatha twist by the 2nd episode. However, so many people got annoyingly bitter after the finale because the other popular fan theories did not come true. To their defense though, Paul Bettany did some top tier trolling by teasing that the finale would feature a cameo with an actor he always wanted to share the screen with (which of course ended up being himself lol). Turning Fietro into a "Bohner" joke also pissed off the people who thought this was going to be the first MCU x Fox multiverse crossover. I get the frustration, but IMHO a lot of people let it distract them from how good this series truly was. Looking forward to seeing your next MCU D+ reactions. This show was definitely my 2nd favorite one (ranked slightly under Loki). On a side note, have you watched J2O's reaction compilations? I think they're a great choice if you are interested in seeing how others reacted to this series when it premiered.

kaiielle

Thanks for watching! That is hilarious that Paul did that, what a troll indeed. I'm looking forward to Loki too! I don't watch reaction compilations because I prefer to give my views (and thus give ad revenue) directly to the reaction channels themselves. I have watched Blind Wave and Reel Rejects reactions to WandaVision so far, and I have a few more channels to get around to, too!

WandaVision remains one of my absolute favorite projects post-Endgame. So glad you enjoyed it! Now that you have finished the show, for some extra context: When Episode 5 originally aired, we all went nuts because we thought that Marvel Studios bringing in Evan Peters to play Wanda's brother was their way of bringing the X-Men characters into the MCU. After that, there were so many theories about Wanda and the Multiverse and how the rest of the show would play out. At least in the context of WandaVision (and not speaking for any future projects), that was not the case. Casting Evan Peters as Fake Pietro was more of just a nod to his X-Men character if anything. I know a lot of people were disappointed that it wasn't more, but it was still really cool to see. Can't wait for you to continue your MCU journey! :)

kaiielle

Thanks for watching with me! I can understand that disappointment in folks, for sure!

This was awesome. I am so happy you decided to jump into the Marvel Universe, you are a most welcome addition to the fandom. This show is a rough one for sure, emotionally speaking. As much as I love Marvel, there are only a few scenes in the multitude of movies & shows that never fail to bring me to tears. Wanda telling Vision he is her sadness, her hope, and mostly her love, right before she has to watch him “die” for the 3rd time, turns me into a puddle every time. I loved what you said/quoted about grief, it is spot on. On a more lighthearted note, I love the way Wanda sniffs her cereal in episode 7 before she eats it. It is such a simple little touch. I don’t know if it was scripted or improved by Elizabeth, but it was so relatable. We have all eaten something questionable, so long as it passes a quick sniff test 😆 Now that Wanda & Vision have broken our hearts, again, I can’t wait for you to see what Team Cap has been up to!

kaiielle

The cereal sniffing is such a little detail that I missed of course, but adds so much to the show and performance. Thanks for watching with me!
