Yes, the opening Marvel title sequence was changed on D+ after Chadwick’s passing. It originally was the normal evolving rotation of characters and images from previously released films. It’s a classy move and chokes me up each time.

This movie is genuinely moving for me, I don’t usually call marvel movies masterpieces but this and another MCU film which I won’t say yet as you haven’t seen it are genuinely pieces of art and I adore them so much. A lot like you, I have zero complaints with this movie, absolutely zero. Easily the best part for me was Chadwick performance, he was a phenomenal actor in every film he starred in, god rest his soul ❤️ My most anticipated movie is up next! Can’t wait! If I may ask, am I right in assuming that’s coming after your vacation? Really damn good reaction, KL. I knew you’d love this one haha

I had a good feeling you would really like this movie and the villain especially. I really thought they made a top-tier villain written in the script and with Chadwick and Michael's performances drew even more out of each other. Thank you so much for the wonderful reaction, KL.

I was enjoying a quiet Saturday, first day in a long time I have the day to myself and nothing I need to do. I had just finished the Before Midnight watch along and BAM! KL double-feature with Black Panther. Ice surprise. Great reaction. I enjoyed this the first time I watched it in theaters but this time I appreciated it on its own and less about how it fit into the overall MCU narrative. I think special effects wise the seams show more in this film than some of its contemporaries. Captain America: The First Avenger had moments of very obvious green screen and I’m not talking about Chris Evans head/body thing either. But here I could see the green screen effects and tell when they were on a sound stage. I didn’t expect that. It didn’t ruin the story, but maybe my eyes are better trained than they were a few years ago. The story is well paced and every actor played their role perfectly. A movie that more than matches the hype. By doing so they set up a great jumping off point into Infinity War. I mean that in a quality movie kind of way.

I love this movie, huge sigh of relief about how you felt about it as well lol. I'm Kenyan so to me seeing aspects of my culture/language and the people around me in such a popular movie was wild. Although I would have loved more African actors its still all good just my nitpick. I could go on and on, but fun fact you're going to hear the composer of this music again very soon for some stuff soon I wonder if it'll be recognisable or if you'll like it. Also Tchalla figuring out whats going on and you're just like 'damn his eyelashes' lmfao!

Lived in South Korea for two and a half years. Lived in Seoul, Pyeongtaek, and Busan. Loved every minute. Wish I could’ve stayed

Everyone widely appreciated this movie. I've never heard anyone say a single bad thing about it. Respect all around. The richness of the cultural representation and the overall feel of Chadwick's portrayal of T'challa as ever optimistic regarding what he feels people can be if given the opportunity is incredible. Everything got so messed up with the movie release dates. It should've gone: Captain Marvel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. Timeline-wise, both take place before either of the Infinity War movies. Edit: I can't find the referenced press release, so I'm wrong about Covid being related. I'm not sure if you are following theatrical release dates or one of the compiled "Watch in this order" lists, but I just wanted to make sure you were aware of the upcoming confusion in the case of the former.

uhh Covid had nothing to do with the movies you listed wdym? Or did you mean to talk about stuff way after those movies?

kaiielle

The edit won't be going on the channel til July 10 but as for the full-length, I'm not sure if that will come before or after the vacation. Depends on how these next few days go.

I am following release dates, and we've already had timeline jumping around so far in the MCU and it hasn't been an issue for me. Also how did COVID cause issues for movies in 2018-2019?

Mirikal

In the fall of 2018, we suffered from COVID before the media press release in January 2019. (I work for UPS in Anchorage, Alaska, USA). It hampered airline movements; we thought it was the regular flu season, but it was worse than in prior years. We lost pilots for 1-4 weeks, which affected flight capability. (So many canceled flights, even before 2019.) But you're both right. I recall it wrong. COVID isn't in any way the announced reason for the release dates. I swear I read a press release detailing the reasons why we had two movies between Infinity War and Endgame and that was a factor. Well, at least you won't suffer from that wait, Kaiielle!

kaiielle

I'm still confused cause COVID wasn't a thing until Dec 2019. Media talked about it in Jan 2020. If y'all suffered from a sickness a year prior, it wasn't COVID-19.

It just would have been too much to release the two Avengers movies back to back. They needed to separate them because of the time and expense it takes to make them, and to not overwhelm the audience by releasing them so close together. It works just fine, I don't think anybody really gets confused by it, and the release order is still the best way to watch the movies, especially your first time through.

I normally don't really care for villains in Marvel. The two exceptions are Loki and Killmonger. Loki is more a grey antagonist in a lot of ways, I feel like Killmonger could have also been if he hadn't decided to die. Poor guy was a product of a really shitty decision and when they watch the sunset I am always moved. This movie is up there in my favorite MCU movies. I also agree about the humor: this movie had a good sprinkling that aided the film and wasn't just a funny to be a funny.

Omg I am soooo excited for the next reaction….INFINITY WAR! Finally! You are about to see my all time favorite movie ever, not just MCU. I’ve seen some 20+ YouTube reactions and yours is the one I’m most hyped for. Ahhhhhh!!!!

Ok, ok, you loved it, I figured you'd love it, so Yeah. Sounds like I'll be sticking around in July. Gotta test my predictive abilities some more. This was most enjoyable, Ms K.
