Hey everyone! I have a pretty big announcement to make as we move into March tomorrow/today.

As of today, YouTube links for new Patreon reactions will be accessible through my WEBSITE: kaiielle.com. I'll still be sharing the posts here, that part won't change. But instead of the video being embedded and provided directly in the Patreon post, there will just be one extra step.

On my website, you'll be prompted to login with Patreon and once verified, you'll be directed back to my website and will see everything you're used to seeing. My site will also have a comment section on each video and it's up to you where you want to leave your comment, either here or on the site. I'll see it and reply either way. 😊

The videos are being transferred to a different YouTube channel, called KL's Vault. As I do the transfers, I'm updating the old posts here on Patreon with the new links. I have started to transfer over my library of videos (oldest to newest) and as I do that, I'll be going back to those old posts and updating them. I am not deleting them as the comments would disappear and I do like going back and reading them.

The Why

There are a couple different reasons I've decided to do this:

Overall Security: Preventing Losses/Leaks

  • I talked to another reactor a while back who logged in one day and discovered that their whole channel was taken down by YouTube. It was a mistake/misunderstanding in the end, but their channel was down for well over a week before YouTube reinstated it. Because they had uploaded everything to that channel, including all their Patreon content, this meant that none of their patrons could watch any of their videos during that time. As much as I'd like to think I'm immune from something like this, nobody is. And even though I prefer having everything in one place, I do need to think about things like this. As for leaks, unfortunately this isn't always 100% preventable, but I'm sure going to try my best. So all of this prompted me to think about separating out my public videos from the Patreon ones with two different channels and incorporate direct integration between my site and Patreon.

Getting My Library on kaiielle.com

  • It's always been on the To-Do List to scrap my spreadsheet and have all the links to all my videos right on my website. I really want my site to be the place people can go to find everything they possibly need because that helps a lot with overall branding. Soon, you'll be able to access content via the menu on the top of my site. For example, you'll eventually be able to go to Movies > Star Wars and see this (for now, pretend all 11 videos are showing here):

If any of you have ever been pledged to Blind Wave, this won't be new as they do it like this too. I am definitely crediting them for this as seeing their website a few months ago definitely planted that seed for me to do the same thing.

I had my mod test this out for me and everything is working well. That said, please reach out to me through comments or a DM if you are having any issues.

The last thing I need to say is that I'm sorry, and before y'all yell at me for apologizing, I'm doing it because I know that change sucks and nobody likes it. I hope that my continued transparency into the why helps with changes though. Back when I worked in corporate, changes were never explained properly, it was always just corporate speak that made no sense. And I'm not about that.

Thanks everyone! 💛

That scenario of someone’s site going’s down sounds dreadful. Very smart taking proactive steps to avoid such trauma. Just point me to the content, I’m along for the ride.

Yeah, I can't imagine the stress of having your entire YouTube channel *accidentally* yeeted into the void by YouTube themselves. Thankfully it was all fine in the end, but it still prompted me to seriously think about transferring all my Patreon videos OFF my main channel. Thanks Bryan!

This makes a lot of sense; definitely don't mind the extra step. Nikki and Steven do it frequently through One Hub which honestly works better IMO.

Thanks Morgan! Haven't heard of One Hub before but figured it was a cloud storage service. I've considered doing that, but it's so hard to justify paying for it when YouTube is free. At least getting Patreon vids on their own channel that doesn't have any public videos on it should help.
