On reaching the $15K Goal (Patreon)

Hey everybody, it has already been a few days but we reached the $15K goal on this Patreon. Thank you so much for your support!
This is a lot of money and we can say without a doubt that Patreon has become one of the major ways we finance the youtube channel. (if you care to know, it covers about 20%-25% of our monthly expenses, depending on exchange rates to euro). Also thanks a lot for your feedback in our last post!

You guys may have noticed that we did upgrade the quality of the video in the last half years, this is a direct effect of Patreon. The videos are getting longer and we spend more time on them while still being able to make slightly more than one per month. (new video this week and the big CRISPR video should be ready in about two-three weeks!).
As promised in the $15K goal, we now can finally work on something we get asked for almost daily: The immune system book and app. Here are the first new designs in almost two years. Not only are we reworking the whole system to be easier to understand (new colors, three different layers: the micro world of proteins where the screenshot is from, the cell layer you already know and an overview layer that shows how the bigger systems interact) there also will be one 10-15 minute video. If everything goes as planned the whole project should be ready for release in summer 2017 – we need to invest about 2500 work hours into this – which would definitely not possible without this Patreon.
So yeah – thanks so much for your support, it is really important for us and we really appreciate it.
