What/who is the source on the US armed forces use of Vietnam War heroin? The numbers I've seen are not considered accurate. Much of the use came from REMF's (GI's not deployed in the field). BTW, the penalty for a PAVN (NVA) soldier/fighter found using heroin was execution shortly after discovery.

I think kurz didn’t explain it too scientifically this time, but still, awesome video, provides a different insight upon addiction!

This is an extremely interesting and crucial topic, the way it's explained in the video is excellent. Really a great video.

In the video you say that we need a society that's more rat park and less rat prison, why not do a video on that? If you incorporate Dunbar's Number, the legal framework of a corporation, and the science of human motivation there are definitely a number of solutions that are better than what we have. We just need to get a corporation that's competing by offering up a variety of better lives to choose from...embracing the variety of humanity instead of expecting us all to be clones and turning the Monkeysphere into an advantage rather than a problem by having lots of mini-societies people can move between. I've got an example, but I'd rather start without priming the pump too much right off the bat! :) I bet there are better ideas, anyway.

Amazingly well told and presented. Fantastic production / animation too. You should be proud of yourselves -- know that this video is going to be shared and seen among millions of people worldwide, and I believe it'd be a good bet to say that it is very likely to change some lives too.

Hey guys, I love this video. Would you mind citing the sources of the different claims in the video? Such as the experiment with the rats. Thank you!

makes sense to me. almost everyone has some sort of addiction (food,tv,games,drugs,sex,..etc) the human connection needs to be restored, then most of the addictions shall vanish. I believe that for sure.

Hi, I just became a patron partially because of this video. I have to agree with some comments below, it would be an order of magnitude better if you can reference your claims, I have all the confidence that you are not making things up and that very few people have access to scientific papers, but it gives lot more credibility for those exceptical. I'm sure this video is going to influence millions, keep up with the good work!

Congrats on another thought-provoking video. Did you guys read the NYTimes op-ed debunking much of Hari's writing, though? http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/15/books/review/chasing-the-scream-by-johann-hari.html?_r=0

You guys should check out the book "The Power of Habits", by the way. It touches into the fascinating (and to me; surprising) biological mechanisms that makes it hard to quit bad habits even when you have your ducks in a row with regard to having good friends and family that supports you. From the title it sounds like a crappy self-help book, but it's really a solid and well written summary of what we know through science about habit forming. There's enough fascinating material in the book that you could easily use it as background material for a video. :^)

Are there enough non-white people in your videos? Oh and of course, thank you for this fantastic video -- it is helping people I love understand some important stuff.
