After almost five years we decided to remake one of our favorite videos. Some of our older content hasn't aged that well so we might redo 3-4 more. We are thinking: "Evolution", "Three ways to destroy the universe", "The Big Bang" and "Are you alone (in the Universe)". What do you think?

Kurzgesagt: your monthly dose of existential terror!

The Big Bang sounds interesting, the others... Are fine :)

I thought I recognised this video. Only realised it was remade after. Nice work! Definitely do the rest too!

JAYTEE

Another Triumph. Well done

While I certainly didn't think the original aged poorly (in fact, I showed it to my baby boomer parents this past week), I welcome the new update.

Loved it! Quality is amazing, content is somehow even more than amazing.

The redo is nice! On the topic of returning to old videos, it'd be really nice to see the "part 2" of the immune system come to life :) Immune System Part 1 hasn't aged a bit, it's always the first video from your channel that I show to people!

I personally would prefer to see new content instead of remakes. And I don't think that these videos aged bad.

It's mad to think that mammoths and the first pyramids existed at the same time. Having a visualisation like this is useful in putting things into context because if you ever learn about (pyramids|mammoths) you never consider how they relate to each other, just how the relate to us.

This is not a remastered video, this is much more! In my opinion it wasn't bad before, but now it's much better. Keep up the good work!

About the mammoths, I looked it up and it turns out some mammoths survived in Alaska and on islands in the Bering Strait until even 8350 (1650 BC). Also, I like the idea of remaking videos, but, like others in the comments I don’t think they aged badly. If they include changes to the original such as this one did, I think I would enjoy it.

I almost cried!! Amazing soundtrack you have there. This is as good as any other science related BBC tv series. Keep up the amazing job!!!

I'd love a redo of the "How Evolution Works" video. Personally, I think it is fantastic and probably the BEST evolution/natural selection video out there. However, I am a high school science teacher in the U.S. who teachers evolution and natural selection to freshmen (14-15 year olds) and I would love it if you could remove the bear humping animation at ~4:17 in the video. I understand why it is in there, but that scene is just a tad too "explicit" for younger students in the U.S. (I'm sure I'll get flack from others for saying that, but bottom line, I will do what I can to avoid angry parent e-mails.) Otherwise, the video is PERFECT! Keep up the awesome work! Your videos are the best things out there!

OSW Review

Big fan of you remastering/updating your older favourite videos, especially if it cuts down work on bringing out new vids whilst you're busy taking care of personal matters.

Gary & Carl

Loved the video! How about a video "Is time real?" I get into a lot of conversations with people about this and would love to see what you guys have to say.

Fabricio Godoy

One of my favorite videos is "The Immune System Explained". But I don't think that it can be any better.

Smooth video! I have noticed, and a few posters in the YouTube video have commented, that there is an error in the video. The 21st century started on January 1st, 2001. The year 2000 was the final year of the 20th century. A person born in this 21st century will not reach the age of 18 until at least January 1st, 2019.

I enjoyed this remake, and I welcome remakes in the future! It makes it easier to share older videos when they've been made up to date. Plus the style has changed over the years, so seeing additional polish on the classics is really appealing!

Thanks for making our “now” a lot more enjoyable and richer.

Norm

Reminds us all that our "Life is too short". Ask that girl out again. Ask that boy out again. Don't have regrets at the end and remember it doesn't say on our tombstone, "He/She was a Great Employee".

Everything you create is just so beautiful. We appreciate you! :3

At 3:51 you mention other human species with only two options...dying out or were killed by us. I thought the latest on the Neanderthals was that they interbred with Sapiens and two became one. ?

I would defiantly like to see How Evolution Works remastered.

Thank you for your masterfully crafted videos. My 9 year old daughter and I enjoy them very much. She requests them more often than cat videos.

You missed an opportunity to remove pepe from the graphics (24 seconds in). Is that because you are betting Matt Furie's planned redemption of the character will make it clear pepe can't serve as a symbol of racism? Also, are you planning to make videos about intersectionality or privilege or emergence?

Meyron Levanon

this is great. if you ever remaster any others, please so the educational ones an not "Three ways to destroy the universe". it's already good as is
