How is 2024 treating all of you so far? I'm really enjoying getting into the flow of painting again, and I'm excited to create more! Here's a little overview of how this month went for me:

SHOP LAUNCH

I’ve been working on my web shop for a really long time, and next month I am finally going to launch it! As patrons, you get the first look at any product that I release, so keep an eye on the feed here if you want to know more about what’s coming up - or sign up to the newsletter at Loish.Shop. Either way, I can’t wait to start creating more unique and well-designed products for the first time in my career!

TUTORIAL: IMPOSTER SYNDROME

For the first time, I made a tutorial that had no demonstration or technique involved. It was purely about mindset and mental health! I really enjoyed sharing my thoughts on the topic of Imposter Syndrome and diving deeper into this issue. I feel like it’s so common amongst artists and I want to help bring awareness to the ways in which it can limit our creativity and growth. Next month’s tutorial will be about an artistic technique again, but I’d love to make a tutorial about mindset-based topics again in the future. If you have any ideas on what you’d like me to cover, don’t hesitate to let me know in a comment or DM!

GRAYSCALE

All of my art this month was desaturated! I wanted to take a little break from color and get back into the flow of drawing lines and shapes that felt organic and flowy, after a long period of feeling like I wasn’t able to access that because of my arm injury. I think it’s also the effect of the winter - the snow, bare branches and pale skies always feel stripped of color to me. I don’t feel like that’s a bad thing - I think it’s really beautiful and also feels like a good start to the year, like a blank slate. Do you also find that the seasons affect your color choices and art?

As always, thanks so much for your support! I'll be sending out links to this month's google drive folder today. If you have any feedback or questions, please feel free to share them with me through a direct message or e-mail to loishh@gmail.com. Any and all feedback is welcome! I hope you’ll continue to be my patron and enjoy the content coming up next month! ❤
