It’s the end of the month, so that means time for me to participate in the monthly challenge for Flame members! This month, the challenge was to use the technique of sculpting with color. It remains my favorite workflow because it’s just so intuitive and fun! Flame members will also get a video that walks you through the process for this drawing and gives tips and advice on how to get good results from this workflow, as well as the full process video, so keep an eye out for that.

Thanks everyone who participated in the challenge! And if you want to join next month’s challenge but you are not a flame member yet, be sure to upgrade your membership on the 2nd of January (signing up on the first sometimes leads to double charging). I hope you all had lovely holidays and that you’ll have a lovely and cozy new year!

Oh I love what you did for this! I like that you were able to work your current interest in browner and more muted colors into the bright orange, very Leyendecker!

The thing I appreciate the most about your skills is that you can keep the detailing for the end, not every single area needs absurd polishment, and I love that so much! We can see that well in this piece. M A G I C A L !

What was the step between the next to last to the final? Something missing? The eyes were opened, finally. How did you do that?
