I finally got around to finishing the wave painting that I started last year! I can’t believe the thumnbails have been lying around and gathering dust for so long! I included some process shots as well. It was a challenge painting the water in a way that felt stylized but also believable and adding depth, but it was a lot of fun too. Very soothing with the organic shapes! Hope you guys like it :)

I was trying to find out what was missing in my work and I realized it was the fact that I wasn’t actually making pieces I wanted to make/ finished pieces. Looking at this gave me a new goal!

i will definitely be making this one available as a print, yes! it might take a while because i want to keep it exclusive to the book initially, but eventually it will go up in my inrpnt shop.

Cool to see the original concept and how it developed. I love the shapes in the water and how you so effectively conveyed the distortion of water in such a beautiful way. How do you create these beautiful shapes? Hand drawn? lasso tool? Other? Very inspiring.

thank you! they were mostly hand painted. that ended up being the easiest way to capture the blobby shapes, even though i tried a few different things before settling on that!

hey! I might release this as a print, but I want to wait until the new artbook has been released since I created it mostly for the book :) it will be released in june/july, so probably it will go up as a print some time after that!

thanks so much! i'll make it available as a print at some point down the line, but i want to wait until my book has been released since i included it in there as a special artwork :)
