Some studies of neon lighting and how it hits the face. I used two separate references for each sketch: a reference for the light, and a reference for the face. So basically I challenged myself to imagine the lighting setup on a different face, which was a fun exercise :)

yes, over-bending is the enemy of any painter!! lasso tool has helped me a lot since it helps me to make decisive choices on where I add the color.
