Hey guys! Hope you had an awesome christmas! I was going through my screen recordings and saw that I had recorded the full process for my After the Rain painting, so here’s a process video for it! Here’s the painting:

I sped it up 3 times the original speed, and in real time this painting took me about 4 hours to complete. You can use the gear button on the player to speed it up or slow it down.

The process is really similar to the environments tutorial, just with a lot more time spent cleaning up the details! So if you want more information about the tools and overall process, just check out that tutorial. Here are the reference photos that I used:

Hope you like it and as always, let me know if you have any questions!

Oh wow, Amazing! I keep forgetting that it's okay to use reference. I always get so darn nervous, trying to wing it from my imagination 🤦🏾‍♀️. And tracking as well, such a taboo topic in the art community.

how I can download this video for watch offline.

Not sure if someone already asked this - but where/how did you get the aufgenommener brush? I really love this effect!

How do you connect to photoshop in this illustration? Are you using a mouse or are you connected to a tablet? I wasn't able to find this info on previous posts.

Loish

hey priscilla! i use a cintiq 27QHD :) that's a screen tablet!

Loish

Loish

you will get a link to the google drive folder at the end of the month!

thanks mishel! i think reference is essential. it's the only way to push past your current skill level and improve! it's a fine line, because if you become dependent on it it can hold you back. but don't be ashamed to use reference, almost all artists do.

Thank you Loish! I'll take your advice to heart, definitely put me at ease.

Hello Lois, how do you use the Gaussian blur? It’s just that when I paint white on a layer and I click on that blur it doesn’t have the effect that it shows in your paintings.

Loish

hey carolina! if you're using photoshop, there's usually a slider with which you can make the blur more or less extreme! make sure the slider is pushed far enough to have an effect!

Hello Loish! What is the canvas size and dpi for your painting do you use both photoshop and procreate?

Hi Loish! I'm sorry if this sounds silly..but I haven't found the gear icon to slow down the videos...I don't see any controls of Vimeo on my phone..

Loish

so sorry to hear that! It should work on mobile - it does on mine. Have you tried a different browser? I used safari!
