Status Update (12/31/21)

Hey, Happy New Year! The holiday has certainly taken a lot of time away from work so regrettably, we couldn't complete Phantom of the Rift's first part to a satisfying point within the month. Though the coding and writing have gotten to a fair point it's still lacking a few key CG art to make it complete. So we decided to only post the first part of the Phantom prologue as a preview video for now instead of a download. The next build will just have to be more polished and longer. Sorry to have kept you all waiting longer.

nice! so hyped. I'll be honest though when it comes to lewd games I sort of hate overly serious and dark stories/characters. I'm not sure I'll care too much at all about any update for the phantom half of the game. Is there any reason this game needs to all be in one game or have multiple protagonist? Couldn't it just all be about one person with difference choices leading to different things? Seems like a lot of extra work basically combining two different projects. Also the way you did the faceless man in the suit was a little creepy looking. Maybe you could just add some vague shadows to hide the face but leave it suggestively there like this https://puu.sh/IzFFZ/a15927a2eb.png out of all the patreons i check this project is for sure the top of my radar. Can't wait. :)

We're glad that you're enjoying this project. Sorry, that's probably my fault (the artist). I asked the writer to make this story a bit more romantic, emotional, and serious because at the time of starting this I was addicted to the Muv-Luv Trilogy. Though I will admit as emotional of a story that was it wasn't really hot just pure romantic. The writer did have that concern that the dark atmosphere would overpower any lewd aspect to come. For the most part, the Hunter route should be mostly slice of life, but I do expect that to somehow get a little more serious down the line too. As for the separate protagonist, the idea was to try and create different character personalities that would fit the different Feminization and Possession genres. Both stories are in the same timeline being parallel to each other, showing different points of view. Hiding the Faceless man face in shadow shouldn't be difficult for this part. Romantic aspects are good, and some seriousness is still good. When i said I dont like when lewd games are too dark and serious I was more talking about the dark grim and overly serious aspects. Like for example to give an idea of what I mean if the visual novel has serious aspects but had a mix of comedy and lewd stuff it could be good, but trying to put lewd stuff into something too serious just kind of kills both moods in my opinion. Kind of like something like the marvel cinematic universe can be very serious some times, but it also has a lot of fun and the fun/serious aspects are a nice balance. But if you try to mix the fun aspects into something too serious like the matrix it would kind of clash and ruin both the fun and serious sides of things. If that makes sense. :P For example I really enjoyed the human route so far, but the part in the train when there is suddenly some demon around and everyone gets all spooked. It felt just kind of meh to me in that part cause it was too jarring a shift from the fun tone it had up to that point and it felt like i was suddenly in a different game. Just my opinon though.

I think I kinda get it, there's still a new part I haven't got to reading yet. I assume you're saying the dark/serious aspect should be balanced together with a fun slice of life moment in order for the lewd moment to fit right?

So question. Dose the current Alpha 1.1 only cover the first 40 minutes of the hunter route?

Yes, we don't think the current Phantom route was substantial enough to create a new downloadable built for it yet, thus we decided to post part of it in a video as a preview for now.
