There and Back Again - Mary Hospital Accident Story is now available to our Patrons with Tier IV Rewards!

A new patient arrives at the hospital. Mary hurt her foot earlier and it was splinted at a clinic. Now that the swelling has gone down, it is time for her to get a cast so it can heal. The nurses carefully set her entire ankle in a fibreglass SLC, and show her how to use crutches. As Mary hobbles her way out of the hospital, a momentary distraction results in a much longer stay than she had planned.
Having broken her other leg on the stairs, Mary is once again back in the cast room. This time she receives a fibreglass LLC, and to ensure all her bones heal properly, it is connected to the SLC with a spreader bar. The nurses settle her into a hospital bed and try to make her comfortable. After a short nap, Mary examines her new condition. Mary will be laid up in hospital for the next several weeks unable to move, and her casts are already starting to itch...
