The castroom´s always busy. Today a girl named Betty with two broken legs is brought by the ambulance. The paramedics already have splinted her legs. The X-rays show that they are indeed both broken and need to be casted. What Betty doesn´t know yet that they need to be fixated by a spreader bar to minimize movement. Therefore she also doesn´t understand why the nurses want to put on a diaper. All her protests don´t help, she needs to take on the diaper and then both her legs are casted in special angles. Finally the spreader bar is attached to keep her legs as rigid as possible. Additionally for the first few days her legs are kept in traction, too. After the traction can be removed she´s allowed to go into a wheelchair and get some fresh air outside.

After her both legs are immobilised with plaster casts, the spreader bar is attached to keep her legs as rigid as possible. Additionally for the first few days her legs are kept in traction, too.
