We're coming up on the end of ZOM 100, so it's time for another poll!  As such we'll be getting this poll done in advance, so we all know what's coming next.

Vote for ANY AND ALL shows that you would like to see us react to! We always take note of which shows get plenty of votes, but don't win. Whichever gets the most votes we will release early access reactions on the Sunday when the final ZOM 100 reaction goes public.

NOTE: Jacob has seen Samurai Champloo and the first two seasons of Chihayafuru!

obligatory post to remind people that, as it states in the poll, Jacob has seen Samurai Champaloo and the first two seasons of Chihayafuru. Now I normally never vote for re-watches but Chihayafuru holds a special place in my heart that I am willing to make what would likely be the ONLY time I will make such an exception

Bakuman will probably never win a poll, but it's a really must watch because it's a romanticised look into how the manga industry works in Japan, right down to how cut-throat it is or how it gets adapted to anime.

Maybe you should reread it cuz one of the main characters literally says women can never understand the dreams of men and that women are better off becoming wives and that women who try hard to be really smart are unattractive. This is all treated as true by the story

Except that that main character at that point is a stupid middle school kid, that never had an actual relationship, acting like a know it all. You are also twisting his words a bit, as he is actually complimenting a girl for being really smart but not putting on airs, not being so fixated on appearing intelligent that she becomes inapproachable or condescending because of it (an opinion that is based on an actual character that he knows), not only having smarts but also the emotional intelligence to cleverly move in social groups. Furthermore there is the whole topic of pursuing your dreams and making them come true through hard work, literally putting your carrier before romance, spanning the entire series. (the very opposite of "women are better of just becoming wives") You are also ignoring the entire rest of the manga that criticises the hang ups and problems the Japanese entertainment industry has with certain stereotypes for women. And even if it was exactly as you say and that was the entire message of the series, and not just a stupid thing a character said in chapter 2 of 176, I am pretty sure I could find a bunch of manga that are way worse.

I think you need a reread. There's literally a scene where the mc's mom is against him becoming a mangaka but she's convinced by the father who says "women can never understand the dreams of men". This makes her let him become a mangaka. You are blinded by your affection for this series.

It's a just a stupid saying on the level of boys will be boys. Actually it's very accurately to compare it to that as it's a stupid and reckless thing done despite knowing the risks and reason. Also you ignore the mother refuting the father and understanding what he just claimed women wouldn't understand. I can only see this as not me being blinded by my affection but you being blinded by your need to have it be some vile misogynistic shit.
