I think it's hilarious that all Kurumi did with the image was run it through DLSS. Like, we can do that today, with consumer-level software that comes for free with half of all GPUs, and Mizuki reacted like it was friggin witchcraft.

One thing you'll notice as you watch this series (if you haven't already) is that unlike most anime that rely on internal thoughts to express and handle character motivations, elaborating on emotions, or plot exposition; Lycoris Recoil has none of that. All of the dialogue flows naturally from the actions of the characters, all thanks to a snappy script that gives conversations a genuine, organic momentum. When people speak or explain things, it almost always feels like a product of natural cause and effect in-world. Very few anime do this, so to see Lycoris Recoil boast a script that handles this aptly is simply a refreshing change of pace. This is so baked into the identity of the show that it is on record that the director, when giving instructions to the voice cast during recording, would push them to interrupt each other during script reads, because he specifically wanted dialogue to feel as analogous to everyday conversation as possible. It's cool the amount of care that went into a project that's mostly just a cute girl's doing cool things anime

I’ve rewatched the show but it never even occurred to me to notice this. Both the character motivations, expressive animation/acting, and the action choreography are so intentional that there’s never any doubt what is going on.

Did they forget little walnut was the one who hacked radiata in the first episode?

Yea; just the way the show handles itself as a whole is really admirable

If you want to experience the "hyper-exaggerated" boardgame anime you should check out Saki, although it's only focused on a single boardgame (mahjong) :P
