So, as far as I am aware, Miwa's Simple Domain is the only technique being employed by Mechamaru in this fight. What he's leveraging is the property of domains disrupting other Cursed Techniques. Mahito's way of making himself unhurtable is changing the shape of his soul so you effectively can't hit him with his technique, so if you can disrupt that, you can make him bleed. I don't know if it's clarified who showed who the technique, but given the fact that the creator took steps to prevent it being intentionally passed down to outsiders, I am on team Mechamaru's smart and studied how Miwa used it enough to replicate it
