Ariel and Luke (supposed to be 12 and 13 at that point, the anime makes them seem a bit older) were indeed talking about nipples at the start there. All of (Asuran) nobility/royalty is generally known to be perverted to the point it's treated as genetic disposition and that isn't limited to the males, like Luke, Phillip, Paul or Rudy, the females like Ariel or Eris (beast girls) are the same. If Slyphie wasn't visible afraid you can be sure Ariel would have gone through with not just sleeping besides each other both her and Luke have a reputation of seducing palace maids. Slyphies hair turning white is a symptom of completely draining her mana reserves beyond the limit because of the teleportation incident and her desperately just shooting off whatever magic she can to try and stop her fall. (BTW Rudy and Eris were supposed to also drop from the sky, Rudy bolstering their fall, Ruijerd even mentioned it but the anime never showed it.) Also Grandpa/Sauros Boreas Greyrat is not Paul and Pilemons father but their uncle, Paul and Phillip (Eris father) were cousins.

Its a fine point, but a little correction on the white hair: Using all your mana reserves causes you to pass out. Rudy did that almost daily as a child in order to help his mana reserve grow. Its pushing your bandwidth past its limit that causes white hair. Like burning out a wire because you drew too much power through it, the wire can burn (hair turn white) while there is still power in the battery. Tossing out so much magic at a desperate pace turned hair white while still airborne, but she stayed conscious and still had mana left to arrest her fall and kill the boar when she landed.

Yes it's directly explained in the novel that it's due to the over use of magic and there are others experiencing similar phenomena.
