Been waiting on this, appreciate it.

The idea that "we don't eat the smart animals" isn't true remotely bro. Two major massive examples of this are calamari and any pork product. Most species of octopi are incredibly intelligent and in a way that is observably and easily comparable to human intelligence. And yet we still fry 'em up into crispy little bites. And pigs are highly socially intelligent and developed, moreso than dogs or cats, arguably. And yet we slaughter them by the billions.

also the world is not america. in lots of places they do eat what you might call 'smart' animals, i.e dogs or cats. this isn't wrong per se but it's not so cut and dry as dumb animals = food.

NGL I skipped ahead a bit in the discussion section and the first thing I hear is, "how to convince people to become vegans" and I think the answer to that is obvious: show them Scott Pilgrim. You're welcome.

I eat meat, but I genuinely think it's morally wrong to do so. Like I want to go vegetarian but I haven't yet, but I completely agree with the ideology and lowkey think a lot of meat eaters are coping when they make fun of vegans and vegetarians

If you ever need any advice about the journey, you can let me know! I used to love animal products, and pretty much never went a meal without them. Now I haven't for almost three years. I think for most people it definitely seems way harder than it actually turns out to be, at least that was my experience. And while it can be hard at times, it only gets easier and easier. Especially when you come from a point of morality and ethics. You've got this ❤️

The false choices American Consumers are presented with is absolutely exhausting. More real alternatives exist in other countries where regulation is less driven by corporations and more by consumer health and transparency. Though it is far from perfect, it is a darned sight better. The consumer is captured by the market in the US much more than the market is driven by the consumer.
