This was hard to read in the manga but the combination of the music, voice acting, the part where Gardar reunites with his son...I was going through it...

Also, the fact that almost half this episode was anime-original too with Gardar's death. This team is putting their heart and passion into Vinland Saga ❤️

For honor and wealth.. I love those words, I love the flashbacks and all the things Gardar realized at the end that was not worth it. All he wanted was to go back to his family and never leave the farm. Whether it was Gardar or not, the message is powerful enough to invoke so much emotions for a guy we barely know. Thank you so much Makoto Yukimura for this amazing show.

I don't know if they read the comments but if someone can relay to them that half of this episode and a good number of solids scenes before are anime original. Just shows the passion of the team going above and beyond for something they recognize as peak fiction.

It was a little too dragged out in my opinion. Other people I saw when this episode came out were annoyed and hated this episode cause it was so dragged out. I liked the episode but it was slightly too dragged along. I personally understand the value of gardar and this episode but a lot of other people just generally didn't understand it and don't care about gardar enough to want it to be majority of the episode. I didn't care much about his character. Barely had any time or connection to him. Thankfully because his character is so attached to arnheid and important to the overall values and thoughts of the show itself it was still worth it from my standpoint

I feel like so much of the show is about properly appreciating the inherent value of human life. Like it's easy to care about lives of people who are important to you, but Thorfinn's emerging philosophy is about treating every life with the respect you'd give a loved one, with truly unconditional love. So idk, I feel like it's fitting that Gardar isn't a character we've spent much time with, but his death is given this much time. It's one of my favorite episodes of the whole anime, and I wouldn't change a thing personally.

I am more so speaking about other people who kept complaining about it. A lot of the people I saw were upset about how much time was spent on this episode with Gardar. I understand both sides. I personally for the most part liked the scenes put into this episode and the time spent but I do admit it can feel dragged out compared to everything else.

Bro, you have awful takes in Roshi's comments and awful takes here. Why must all the vinland comment sections be full of your awful opinions
