The next episode is one of my all time favorite anime episodes. Really looking forward to the reaction next weekend

To clarify, because it's' shown in a very quick moment, but Thorfinn didn't hit the retainer to protect Einar, he hit him because he was pissed. If you watch the scene again, you can see the rage on his face from the retainer insulting them, as well as the moment he realizes he flew off the handle and regrets it. Counting the days until next week's episode. It's legendary.

This was a really interesting discussion, seriously. Made me rewatch the episode again to analyse some stuff. Neat. I can't wait for the reaction to episodes 10 - 11 (I think, if I remember right) and then to episodes 14 - 17 (or was it 16? I'll have to check which one's current), srsly.

Yeah, I think Thorfinn got as angry, too, but I don't blame anyone for not noticing on the first watch. XD

Where exactly is this moment where Thorfinn has rage from the insults? I rewatched the scene multiple times and the only face thorfinn has is struggling to hold Einar back, Einar's rage face then immediately Thorfinn's punch, unless you're saying that his face DURING the punch is rage, which seems like a comment made with future knowledge. This seems more like an anime hindsight comment or a manga reader comment than something done by observing the Anime, sounds like a spoiler to me.

Kukatutu, it was essentially just Einar and Thorfinn getting pissed at the final line and Thorfinn punching before Einar even could. Einar surprised that Thorfinn did so despite holding Einar back. You can see his rage filled face on his follow through at about 11:23-11:24 in this video. You can also see the rage in his face after the punch, at 11:27-11:28. This was also a lot more obvious in the manga panel for 11:27-11:28's face. If you're curious, check chapter 69 page 26. This was covered in the episode itself, and shows the rage he is feeling. No future knowledge at all.
