What a truly fantastic season! It will be a long time till there is a Season 3, but I am more than willing to wait! One of the best shows of last year.

Not that much, season 3 is already in the works. Or at least a "new content". My guess is that, since the manga doesnt go fast enough, they'll continue the story with a new, anime exclusive, season. Or maybe a movie. Probably with the help of the author.

one thing i really love about this season is how the song 'Gravity' bookends the season, playing first when the ganja first see the island in the first episode, then starts playing for the second time when Reg asks Faputa to join them on their adventure in the final episode.

I wouldn't be hopeful of that turning out good...even if the mangaka is involved. I'd rather let him have time to think on the story, even if it takes years, for the sake of a potential masterpiece being ruined by anime original content.

I heard they were trying to force the author to pump out chapters so they could hurry and make the next season.... Not sure if its true or not but even chibireviews made a video on it I think

To be fair, a sequel was announced pretty quickly after season 1 ended as well, even though it took years for them to release Dawn of the Deep Soul. It’s probably just meant as confirmation that they intend to continue to series once there’s enough material to do so.

The author made one tweet saying something to the effect of "I've got to hurry!" in response to the next season announcement. Everything else is pure speculation
