Duna

The reason I love this show and your reactions to it is the empathetic nature of your discussion. I’m from a country that have been involved in active conflict for literally generations. We all suffer some sort of ptsd, known a person that’s gone and I’m not even 30. In the last few years some cities have banned fireworks because of the explosion sounds. And yet you live and study and go out. But war is poison. You don’t forget you just get used to it. Thank you for being so understanding to the spearhead squad having ptsd bubble up to the surface. Made me feel good 🌞

I remember seeing a post on Reddit a combat veteran commented on on how well they depicted PTSD in this story, especially this episode and you can pretty much see each persons reactions. https://www.reddit.com/r/EightySix/comments/q6nk29/86_through_the_eyes_of_a_combat_vet/ You’re kinda reaching with Eugene being a spy… he’s genuinely just joining the military because it’s the easiest way to earn money for himself and his sister. You could also say he’s a combination of Rei and Lena; the older, reliable brother vibe of the former and a diligent Alba like Lena. Two of the most influential people in Shin’s life. And Frederica can see the past and present of those she only meets. Although it’s only images without sound so information can be limited. And if she doesn’t know a person’s name or have met, it wouldn’t work. Which is also the reason why she seems more mature for her age, but still acts like a child like when she was wanting Raiden and Shin to do things for her.
