In my Head Cannon Kazuma and Kunimitsu are a long term couple and YOU CANNOT PROVE OTHERWISE.

I’m surprised they didn’t key into Kazuma’s memory of Kyo as a part of that measuring stick for how he has grown as a character. That’s the first time they show how broken Kyo was just before the start of the series.

awesome reaction as always you two!! I don't have much in the way to comment on this time but to answer you Jacob, Kyo was still in elementary school when his mother committed suicide. Also, it's just a thought I had while you were talking about Shigure timing his appearance PRECISELY as he did. I agree with him being a total wingman for Kyo here while also doing what he can to reassure Tohru. But---- I also can't help but wonder if he did indeed read the room and stepped in before things could get TOO romantic, potentially for the reasons you both talked about here. In just until the curse can be broken it's simply not possible, or he knows neither of them are quite ready for that yet, or he's TEAM YUKI XD when it comes to Tohru. Either way, as helpful as he was he may also have been blocking things a bit to. Lastly, WHO ALL ELSE IS EXCITED FOR THE PREQUEL SERIES FOCUSING ON KYOKO AND KATSUYA (Tohru's dad)!? I just saw the trailer yesterday and it was literally the highlight of my day!!

Come on beach arc... We're so close

God I love this episode and the themes of parenthood, love/romance and anxiety covered/shown in it. I love Uo’s bluntness and Hana’s reaction to the marriage talk and how much like protective parents they are when it comes to Tohru especially about romance. It’s great to be able to see where Master lives and more interactions with him. I’m not sure what it’s exactly supposed to represent but I know cutting hair has meaning in Eastern cultures so it’s interesting Master did this. Seeing how much like father and son they are with teasing and annoyance/embarrassment is so heartwarming. Also it’s hilarious how bad Master is at cooking. I like his assistant. I love how they discuss childhood fear and how it relates to Kyo’s fear in the past and present with the scary face especially how much Kyo wants to be able to face that fear. From the reactions and tone we knew Kyo’s “father” would be bad but I don’t think most people including myself thought he would be this terrible. No parent should ever talk about their child like he does and the way he acts is honestly horrific. I feel like there is some sort of symbolism with Kyo’s “father” playing music constantly connecting to not wanting to hear reality or look inward. I have a theory that I may have come up with right now is that maybe the curse extremely amplifies negative aspects of people connected to it. I love your discussion about Master being calm but firm with how he dealt with this situation it’s a great aspect of his personality. I enjoyed you guys talking about the romantic aspects of the show and while I do agree it’s not the main part of the story and characters in the end I do think the romantic aspects are there to push the characters forward in their personal journeys. The part of this episode dealing with anxiety was really relatable and so well done. It was interesting hearing your analysis about how great Shigure’s advice is and more ideas about his motives for doing things. It’s a great lesson to learn that you need to take one thing at a time to be able to overcome problems that seem overwhelming otherwise. Finally the way Kyo is around Tohru is adorable and heartwarming. Great reaction and I can’t wait for the next one. Keep up the great work. :-) <3
