The comment that Kazuma makes about fate or coincidence bringing Kyo and Tohru to live together, especially the way he worded it really takes on a different meaning knowing what we know now. Love the reaction and am excited to go on this emotional rollercoaster with y'all!

And here we are finally at what I feel is objectively the best episode of season one and definitely my favorite. I love it so very much and it’s such an emotional roller coaster from heartbreaking to heartwarming. I both love and hate how the episode starts because of how rough it is and even if unfortunately it hurts to see Kyo like this but Kazuma certainly made a powerful 1st impression. I can’t say all the reasons I love Kazuma as a character but his relationship with Kyo is very much part of why I do. Also I feel like his calm and wise personality is just the kind of personality I will always love when done right like this. It’s great how the zodiac members were taught by him and how they also respect and like him. I love to see more of the tsundere nature of Kyo when we also get to see such genuine childlike happiness from him with master which is probably the happiest we have seen him so far even with Tohru because of how much he is pushing against his feelings. I like how they explore more of the true form with the master especially with how right he is about Kyo running and hiding from his emotions with an unfair hate towards Yuki. Is what Kazuma harsh and against what Kyo wants? Definitely. Is it necessary? Absolutely. The design of his true form is crazy and I think the show does such a great job of showing how painful and horrific the transformation is. And unfortunately we see that this is also connected to more of Akito’s abuse ugh. I love how Tohru’s 1st response is to go help him but the realistic aspect of the transformation scaring and making her sick however everything that follows really shows the resolve/determination that comes from her heart/empathy. There is so much great stuff with the animation, voice acting (the dub is just as good by the way), symbolism and emotion in the scene between Kyo and Tohru I can’t go into all of it simply because it speaks for itself. I do love how they explore even if it’s not fully why Kyo has such issues with his own emotions stemming from his mother not being able to accept him completely and being more of someone with a surface love/only talking about love. In comparison to Tohru showing what love should really be like and displaying true bravery by doing everything she can to help him while being very afraid. Seeing her break through to Kyo while certainly not solving everything is a step in the right direction feels really satisfying and cathartic. The end of the episode is just so heartwarming and adorable. And it’s interesting from a story standpoint to see him understand his feelings for Tohru even if he clearly isn’t ready for something like that and use more time to understand. Also you know it’s an important episode when the credits are playing over the episode. It’s so amazing and it’s not even the last episode what a show. I can’t tell you how happy I was when I saw this discussion was almost 50 minutes. I feel this way a lot with your channel but I love how emotional and vulnerable you guys are when I think not enough people are and the personal stories with boundaries are always so moving for me you guys are just such genuinely good people it’s wonderful. I loved you guys exploring stuff about Kyo’s mother and potential things going on with her and why things were like that in the discussion. It was great to see you talk about Kazuma since I love him so much. Also great thoughts, ideas and theories galore interested to see what you are right, wrong and completely crazy about in the end. Finally this was an amazing reaction and conversation really heartfelt and enjoyable. I can’t wait for the next episodes reaction/discussion and keep up the great work. :-) <3
