I think we've all been waiting for this!

I think you REALLY focused on Vi being to blame for leaving Powder. It is true. But not nearly as bad as you made it to be. She needed time to process. She never planned to leave Powder. She was coming back. Marcus happened to be here. And Silco.

I mean, there’s no way to tell how long Vi would’ve waited if Silco hadn’t shown up. All we saw was her reacting like a big sister would when she noticed Powder was in immediate danger. Maybe Vi actually would’ve left Powder after cooling off a bit. We really can’t know for sure. The only thing we DO know is that Vi walking away was a huge mistake, just like Powder attempting to save her friends was a huge mistake.

THE PAINNNNNNN

Thank you for being the only reactors I've seen that acknowledge Deckard wouldn't have just given up if the explosion hadn't happened. As tragic as it is, I think the way it went down is the only way Vi and Powder make it out of that situation alive. Silco's intention was to kill everyone; "The coward Vander ran away and took all his kids with him" doesn't exactly leave much room for interpretation. If everything goes the same, but Vi stays with Powder outside, Silco isn't adopting both of them and Vi knows too much; same if Marcus doesn't grab her. Best case: Powder still lives. Powder stays behind as she's told, there's no explosion, Vander and the kids get out the wall, likely chased down by Deckard (and probably other juiced henchmen, because the stores aren't destroyed), maybe Powder lives. I was not expecting to love this show as much as I do, and I cannot wait for you guys to get to the end of the season.

The thing I like most is how much they are able to show with these character's facial expressions, body language, lighting, etc. They are able to fit so much narrative without ever having to explictely state it which allows them to use the run time super economically and keep the narrative fast.

I dont think VI left Powder. After hitting her, VI realized she needed some space before she does something more stupid. We can see that VI wanted to go back again

Vi was leaving Powder because she had physically harmed her and realized that she needed to step away and cool off before she could handle the situation. This is actually a recommended behavior for parents when they are at risk of losing control and harming their children. You could really see the self-loathing mix in with the anger when Vi looked down at Powder's blood on her hand.

I do want to echo what some others have pointed out. Vi is only around 14ish here, and in less than 24 hours watched a family friend (Benzo) die, her adoptive father taken, and then most of her adoptive family die while she was trying to save them. That would mess up anyone, let alone someone that young with as much trauma as she has faced before. When she confronts Powder she deals with it like she does with most of her issues, she lashes out. First punching and then by saying Mylo was right and Powder is a jinx. And while she is holding Powders face, she sees how she is hurting her sister and she looks down at her fist which is beat up in the same way that it was when Vandor grabbed it and said that it won’t solve her problems, just make more. That’s when she walks around the corner and sits down. Seems like she was trying to take care of Powder right there, bc there are times as a parent, caretaker or guardian when you need to step back or else you will hurt the person your trying to care for. She was still in a place where she could watch over her sister while trying to process and so when her sister is in trouble she runs to help and is stopped. Seems a lot to expect a young teen to go through and immediately turn around to do the exact right thing for Powder in that moment.

"Even after he went back into being the animal, the monster that would totally just kill things dead, then he was still able to turn away from it..." oh the irony if the rampant speculation is correct.

Hey, Powder succeeded! You go, girl!

Also I love how this show is so well-written that it can spark so much discussion in a patreon comments section lol

Safe to say that pretty much everyone and their moms noticed the obvious reference to Alexandre Cabanel's "The Fallen Angel" from that shot of powder's eye. But what most people overlooked is that slow motion scene of powder falling from the explosion is part of the entire metaphor. I've seen this reference used in so many stories, but this is textbook execution.

“I can help them” OH GOD OH GOD NO

it's also a point to know that powder/jinx doesn't know silcos involvement; she doesn't know he is the bad guy at this point in time

Why’s everyone so sad? This was a happy episode, Jayce and Viktor proved their Hextech theory. Things are good. There wasn’t anymore episode after that. Sure we didn’t get confirmation of what happened with Vander and the kids, but I’m sure they’re fine. Everything’s fine. EVERYTHING! 8D….8,,,D
