Ah, we finally got to the "Fight back" scene.

Nanami's backstory is really simple, but it manages to just hit so hard for some reason. The simple act of someone thanking him for his work is enough to make him realise that it's more worth his time than a safe, affluent, but empty life in a company.

Its because its relatable as hell, its not like other animes where backstories are bizarre and have crazy twists

I'm not sure if the guys realized that the transfigured "people" in this episode were children. And that the weird juju stroll from the episode 12 directly ties in to this -- the curses playing with the barrel in the playground were children that Mahito had transfigured. So disturbing. It's interesting to me that Caleb thought Nanami is supposed to represent the person who is critical of the jujutsu world when he is, when all is said and done, more of a rule follower than not. As far as the story is concerned, there really is only one person who's truly both critical and actively trying to do something about that critique. I wonder when they'll realize who that is or if they, as so many others, get too distracted by that person's surface presentation.

So excited for the upcoming episodes. Gonna get so much food for thought for the discussions

i mean that person surface presentation is cool as fuck. Its one of the selling points of the whole series to majority of the people

Sorry for this extra comment: I would just like to add, for the guys and for anyone who hasn't listened to or read it yet... There's a great supplemental material for this arc. There's a short story from one of the LN's that takes place before Nanami meets Yuuji where he and Gojo go to Hokkaido on a mission. It basically leads into this arc and ends with Gojo asking Nanami to look after Yuuji. Their conversation in that scene is absolutely stellar (for both their characters) and deserve to be known to everyone. The mission itself is also good, should have been an OVA tbh. The short story itself is a bit hard to read as there's no official English translation yet. But it was turned into an audio drama featuring Gojo and Nanami's actual voice actors. It's called "The Resurrection Doll.” It's fantastic and a very good fan translation exists on youtube.

They explained in ep 12 that Itadori being able to hit Mahito’s soul actually has to do with him being a vessel and his affinity for understanding the outline of a soul. It has nothing to do with the delayed cursed energy attack, which only has to do with his physical attributes and attacks being so far ahead of his flow of cursed energy.

Great reaction and post discussion as always, cant wait to start the next arc with you two!!

The fact that they don't read these comments is an absolute tragedy. I haven't even started watching yet and I already have a headache from them missing this key bit of thematically significant lore

Thank you for telling me about resurrection doll going to check it out!
