I think Kyoya doesn’t romantically like Haruhi but I’ll talk more about what I think about Kyoya in a later episode

i love that you guys are able to pick up on the very strong queer coding with Kyoya! i feel like it's something a lot of people don't see

Kyoya isn't gay. In the manga he completely has a crush on her as well.

He isn't in the anime either. The bros misinterpreted his dialogue with Haruhi in episode 8 and have been running with the idea that Kyoya is gay since then, when it was most certainly not the intention of the scene to "foreshadow him being gay or bi" or whatever. They're repeating the same mistake they did in episode 1 where they misinterpreted Haruhi's dialogue and started using "He/him" when referring to Haruhi thinking that she's a transgender character. They like to imprint things onto the characters where there is none, and what's frustrating is that they never question their understanding, rather, they just run with it. They're very tunnel visioned in that regard.

I know. Its kind of funny. But I still felt like saying something.

Kyouya is the best homosexual supporting cast member.

I'm so glad you guys are picking up on the queer subtext with Kyoya ahhhhhhh it's refreshing to see!!

Kyoya’s not gay though. In the manga he’s defo crushing for her. He supports Tamaki because they’re best friends and for reason we’ll find out in later episodes.

After my 58th re-reading of the manga and 125th re-watching of the anime, I've come to the conclusion that the sexuality of any of the characters (except Honey in the manga) is rather ambiguous and intentionally so. One of the primary themes of the manga is, as Haruhi states in the very first episodes, that gender doesn't really matter and there shouldn't be a need to label things or change how you act towards someone because of those labels. It's a way of looking at sex, gender, and sexual orientation that is very reminiscent of European and American trends in the 80's. Japan tends to run about 20 or so years behind the West in these areas so I'm not surprised to find them conceptualized in a 2000's manga.

I think the biggest thing to keep in mind with Kyoya's sexuality or romantic mindset is that, at the end of the day, he would only marry to further his family's empire. I personally sense strong Bisexual energy from him in the manga but he has "Nothing to be gained" meaning his family has "Nothing to be gained" from really pursuing anyone at this time.
