Lovely reaction and discussion! I love the discussion and the predictions for the race itself! Your reactions to the cliffhangers are just great. lol This show really loves to make us worry about Haiji. Y'all are really gonna love each character's parts of the race in terms of development. I know it was something you mentioned in I think a couple episodes back? It was last week or the week before. Anyways. I'm really looking forward to diving deep into each character and seeing and hearing their thoughts as they run. I really like Fujioka and I think you'll like him even more when we get to the race. He's very humble. He doesn't look down on anyone who doesn't run as fast as him. He never once looked down on Kansei because they're mostly amateurs. He wanted them to make it to the Ekiden. He wanted Haiji's dream to come true. I really appreciate that about him. This was a really nice, chill episode to look into the meaning of running. Not only for Haiji, but potentially everyone else. Next week is gonna be nice, but also somethin' else. The end of it is the start of the endless tears.

The character work in this show is great, it reminds me a lot of Ping Pong and in that vein, Fujioka reminded me of Kazama, albeit even more modest.

Paused watching your reactions to this for a bit as the Twins turning against the run is simply frustrating IMO. Right after such an achievement you would feel on top of the world and if you suddenly start questioning why you are doing this in the first place the your missing the point. Besides if the show wanted to take this angle they should have shown the twins disappointed when they weren't top 5, I mean sure they were told before hand they probably wouldn't do that well but they can't both be excited that they passed than immediately sad that they don't stand a chance at winning. I don't think it is completely unbelievable, but how they acted just made me feel that they were selfish and could not comprehend the worth of making such an achievement.
