The start of every single Space Dandy reaction: "I'm Caleb, and I'm Jacob" "Alright so maybe this episode we'll be getting into some continuity."

Honestly the conclusions I drew from this episode was a lot simpler. The Ukulele guy, who is unable to smile due to his face being a solid mask, just wants to be able to smile to resonate with other people being happy. He tries to do this by stealing other's smiles, but he's never satisfied because no matter who it is he impersonates, it's not really "his smile" which is something he doesn't understand, so he keeps deceiving himself into thinking he just needs to find "the right one". When Dandy punches him in the face and cracks his mask, his mouth is physically formed into a smile. And only then when Dandy tells him he's smiling he's finally able to be happy because it's truly himself smiling, and not a facade. There's probably some deeper meaning or metaphor to be made, but the story works on surface level, and I can enjoy it for what it is.
