Tsukasa is smart, but the anime made him Jimmy Neutron brain blast levels of genius. They were a lot more in-depth with Tsukasa's thought process in the manga.

Megi Moon

They toned him down later on which was good and also Senku doing some crazy stuff Tsukasa wouldn't even predict. Also even here he is chasing after Senku which means he doesn't have enough knowledge to invent revival fluid like Senku so he is going easy route just get answer from Senku. He probably just fear Senku's brain as well which shows that Tsukasa actually believes Senku would find way to beat him given enough time

Cains

Tsukasa is smart, but Senku is a genius. That's why Tsukasa is such a threat, because someone who can just fight well isn't actually that dangerous as they're easy to manipulate. A smart fighter is very dangerous because they're the type that becomes a general instead of a champion. Tsukasa's ability can seem crazy but many times they're surprisingly realistic. Humans can easily outrun boars, people (and animals) do actually catch birds mid-air, trained martial artists (such as boxers) can kill humans as well as animals with one solid punch to the head, and as one of you said it's natural to think people weaker than you from the modern age are going to try to make gunpowder which you would go to mountainous/volcanic areas for. Tsukasa is slightly unrealistic, but mostly he's just the absolute peak of human physical ability as well as clever. One thing to keep in mind is that in some disciplines like Taekwondo, you can actually generate the force of several sledgehammers in a single kick -- to where you can actually destroy a solid wall with a kick. The human body when trained intelligently to its peak is a terrifying thing that most normal humans have never seen. This series goes into martial arts and weapon history as much as it does science, so you're going to see some insane things that are actually accurate to history.

The crack is on her shoulder and thigh not all are on the face especially when it comes to the female characters

I find the manga as a whole doesn't come off quite as absurd as the anime. Granted it's the same stuff, but presentation makes a difference.

good stuff

This show has a rough start imo. Not rough as in it's bad but it's just outright anime ridiculous. But I think after the next two episodes, it gets really, really good.

I agree that the "they went generally west... *GASP* volcanoes! Sulfur! Gunpowder!" guess is silly, but the initial one where Tsukasa determines that Senku is planning on making weapons of science to fight him is completely sensible. Tsukasa knows 1. Senku wishes to revive EVERYONE, or as close to that as possible. 2. Senku is driven and isn't going to back down on his mission easily. 3. Senku, Taiju, and Yuzuriha are not fighters, at least physically, and stand precisely zero chance against himself. 4. Senku is stupid-ridiculous levels of genius. 5. Senku's ideals about the Stone World and his own are on a collision course with one another. From this, it's not exactly a Sherlock Holmes-ian deduction for Tsukasa that Senku would want to leverage his skill - intelligence - to combat him. If not right now, then definitely sometime in the future. It's only when combined with the volcano galaxy brain thing that it becomes goofy. Though I should say, I'm only calling bullshit on this since the bros seemed to think that this was almost as dumb as the later deduction. You're probably not referring to that specifically.
