It appears the link isn't working for me :(

(nevermind)

Jules Eris

introduction of the best bois club

Sean

The Part 5 cast is probably the only group of Jobros in the series where there's not a single one I dislike. They're all pretty great. Also get hype for episode 7, bois.

Rare

That's Deku's voice actor btw (Narancia)

Pyrrhus65

In case you guys didn't notice, Narancia (the airplane guy) has the same VA as Midoriya, and Abbacchio has the same VA as Aizawa!

Sean

25:53 The reason characters often fight alone is actually rather interesting. In his book "Manga in Theory and Practice", Araki outlines the core tenants of what he believes a hero should be like, and one of said tenants is something along the lines of "heroes fight alone".

Sean

Overrated? Maybe, yeah. But I don't find him to be bad or annoying, at least.

Stefan Andrei

Mista, the guy who seems highly superstitious regarding the number 4, is because of a belief in Asian nations which associate the number 4 with death. Coincidentally, in almost every Asian language, 4 is written in some way which also means the word “Death”. In Japanese it is written as “shi”, which is also how you write “Death”. In the end what makes his outrage over the number 4 even more nonsensical, is that he’s Italian and 4 is in no way related with any word for death in Italian. Also, while Giorno turned his tooth into a jellyfish to suck up the pee, disregarding the fact that in such a situation it’s impossible for a jellyfish to do that, since it’s 98% water, it means it only absorbed 98% of the pee, meaning in the end, Giorno still drank 2% of it. One additional side note: Abbacchio’s name has a focus more on the first letters of his name, rather than last, so you spell them faster, and is pronounced “Aba-ki-oh”

Sean

"-in such a situation it's impossible-" What're you talking about? This is JoJo, there's no such thing as an impossible situation. Seriously though, that fact about the number 4 is pretty neat.

Aya

You guys already called bruno’s role in the group nice! I can’t wait for you to see more of him.

Shamar

They’re gonna love their signature torture dance

Heart of Steel

"Abbachio’s name has a focus more on the first letters of his name, rather than last, so you spell them faster, and is pronounced “Aba-ki-oh”". That is most certainly not how an Italian would pronounce it.

Stefan Andrei

Didn’t explain it right, you don’t spell them faster, but you accentuate the “Abba” compared to the “cchio”.

StasisArbiter

Ah yes the most beloved piss drinking scene in all of anime

Heart of Steel

ay what's the Patreon tier to get these guys singing lessons?

Heart of Steel

That doesn't seem to match how they pronounce it in the show, but whatever. Anyway, let's talk about the jellyfish thing since I've seen other people say the same thing you did: "since (the jellyfish is) 98% water, it means it only absorbed 98% of the pee". First of all, he doesn’t say “water”, he says “liquid”. But he wouldn’t say either if he was talking about the piss. Secondly, here’s a quick biology lesson: So, only about 5% of ANY jellyfish body is actual solid matter. The rest is liquid. Now, I'm not a marine biologist like Jotaro so I don't actually know what that liquid is. I know in humans the liquid is inside of our cells and our blood and so forth. In jellyfish some percentage of it might be ocean water; I'm not sure. Araki seems to think that it's ALL ocean water. So, the premise of Giorno's trick is that the Jellyfish was born with either no liquid in its body or very little liquid in its body and thus was so desperate for liquid that it gobbled up all of the piss from the cup. Now, putting aside how that does or does not conflict with real-life jellyfish biology, there's no possible way that an actual tooth-sized jellyfish would be able to absorb and entire coffee-cup of piss or even 98% of a coffee-cup of piss. But I believe that is the premise based on the way it’s phrased in the anime and the manga as well as what I know about biology. Also, it wouldn’t make any sense for Giorno to only suck up 98% of the piss. Obviously he wants it all sucked up so he doesn’t have to drink any. If someone wants to challenge me on that based on the phrasing in Japanese, go for it.

Stefan Andrei

Alright, listen, I’m not talking about real life here, the most I went into it was if it was “realistic”. I recognize that the water part is my mistake, and I apologize. But the 98% liquid definitely isn’t. I only made an argument around information I got.

Extrime

You think he is overrated because you haven't read Purple Haze Feedback, majority of Jojo fandom consider it semi-canon or even canon.

Isaiah R.

“Bruno is the mom of the group” They’re catching on

Jermaine Tito

dude, you're totally not getting it. the JELLYFISH is 98% water. That has nothing to do with the amount of water it can suck up. If a drop of water fell on a dehydrated jellyfish 10x its size, do you seriously think 2% of that drop would not be absorbed? The amount of water the jellyfish is able to absorb is a separate math equation from what percentage of the jellyfish is made up of water. Also mista's whole deal is explicity said to have come from his life experiences, not from the number sounding like a word in italian. he took a different path to arrive at the same result.

Jermaine Tito

the analysis of the group was pretty spot on except for the thing about them being stupid. even narancia, who seems like the most bumbling, is extremely resourceful and tenacious. They're all just a bunch of dirtbags who've had hard lives.

Theo Traumato

Narancia has a lackluster education and not very high logical intelligence, i think stupid is a right description. His resourcefulness is limited to fights, here he shines by his street smartness. Though he has high emotional intelligence and is probably the most emphatic of the group.

soycd33

Yes Narancia is the guy from MHA but who cares that show is overrated rubbish that could have been written by a teenager

John FD Lobrano

ONLY because they were thirsty for ANY kind of conclusion on Fugo. PHF is basically Part 5 fan fiction when you get right down to it. Yes, I KNOW Araki likes this story, but that doesn't make it cannon in my eyes. And I read PHF, and I find that overrated too. B/

Sean

As an aside, at a convention in Italy last month, Araki confirmed that Shigechi is *still* his favorite character for whatever reason. I'd like to think he's joking, but who knows?

Isaiah R.

Ight, calm down there buddy. Not trying to make fun of other series here

John FD Lobrano

That befuddles me more than anything else. That character existed PURELY to die. Araki needed a character death but couldn't do Koichi because fans loved him too much, so he threw in Shigechi RIGHT before Kira's introduction. And for some reason, people are still sad about his death. I just don't understand WHY!

Sean

I don't hate Shigechi, but I can agree with your overall point. He was very much just a "there to die" kind of character. I feel like a weakness in Araki's writing is that he can sometimes overdo it when it comes to death flags. Having re-watched Part 2 recently, Caeser is a prime example of this.

well what I'm thinking about is the little feet fight, where at first piccolo thinks he's unintelligent in terms of logical reasoning, but ends up learning that he only has certain blind spots and is actually quite adept at long term planning and reasoning. he's smarter than just street smarts; he's just not formally educated, as you said. it's an interesting thing about him that keeps getting revealed as the story goes along.
