I love how and what Ray and Moms relationship was shown to be. Mom didn't "hire" Ray cause she really needed a spy or any other manipulativ reason. She just wanted her son to live as long as possible

I've watched this series about 6 times now I believe. After watching this with you guys (before your after discussion) I just came up with a theory that I feel like HAS to be true. If it is it proves Norman is alive. NOW let me stress now that if I am right please believe me when I say I haven't read ahead int he manga. Not a fan of reading ahead (feels like spoiling myself). Here's my theory. I believe certain male kids are picked out based on their test scores to be used as "Dad's" for the future children admitted to the Plants. Perhaps in an attempt to match high IQ male/female kids to produce smarter offspring. I feel like this has to be the big reveal where Norman is alive. Please don't confirm this theory if it is correct cause I don't want to be spoiled as much as I don't want Jacob and Caleb to be spoiled.

Think about it, Isabella took over the farm after she had Ray. So Ray, Emma, and Norman are the only kids she got to keep from the beginning to the end. Emma and Norman are like herself and Lesley, and Ray is her own child. It's impossible for her to not love them for real.

I am not sure if you know or not but season 2 has been announced for next year I believe.

I think they forgot that Krone said that there're human societies on the outside that have equal footing with the demons.

Ray's been humming that tone the whole show and so has isabella

What I love about the parallel between Isabella and Emma is that Ray pushed that there was no way they could escape with everyone. But Isabella failed to escape as a kid because she tried to do it alone. Emma succeeded because she relied on others.

Ray was humming that tone on screen just in the end of ep 10 and then later in ep 12 in flashback when they noticed how important is this song. Anime showed that song in so many versions: Isabella, Ray, Leslie, OST of someone in the background. At least 4 versions so yeah that song was in whole anime many times but it was so many times they could just thought Mom was singing that song to all children

Raykel

She didn't said anything about societies. She only said that certain human beings appear to have equal standing with the demons

watch Vinland Saga, FireForce, and Doctor Stone. Three best anime this season so far.

VINLAND SAGA IM YELLINGFFC

VINLAND SAGA. There really was no other choice. Nice.

^This This probably more leans towards the side that there are a few select humans with high status that either work with demons or actually have a higher standing than most regular demons, say, grandma, for example.

I have to say: I really, really like that they had Gilda express concern over the children in the other plants, rather than Emma or Ray. Emma's a little hyper-focused on getting HER family out, and Ray until JUST recently only cared about how his suicide plan would go, so it makes sense that the compassionate and nervous Gilda would be the one to consider that. That part always gets me right in the heart because although it's an incredibly harsh problem - saving all the kids from every plant - of course someone like Emma won't take that lying down. So, it ends up being kind of half sequel plant and half emotional beat. I love it.
