Is Caleb going to drop his new Rap album or something?

They showed this in the manga I think but the reason why Ray carries his book around is because its easy to pass notes off to mama without looking sus

Don and Emma are very similar in the way that they behave, they both love their family very much, and are very emotional about them; Don is some ways moreso emotional then Emma. He's not stupid, per say; he just makes foolish mistakes because of his emotions are so strong.

can't wait for the next one now

They have no idea :)

I like how they know that its because Don has been the victim of miscommunication and is acting foolishly because he doesn't have the whole truth. It's like someone running into a burning house to save someone, but the person outside saying they are being foolish because they already know the person is dead.

"What if she recognized herself in Ray?" Well...you're not completely wrong. ^^;

A bunch of people forgot, but Don is impatient because Norman chose to LIE about Conny being alive, giving him a sense of urgency to save her. In the 1st ep you can see he was close to her.

I read the manga and still dislike Don. He's always annoyed me.

Regarding the Mom vs Kids topic, I think you guys don't give the Mom Academy enough credit. If they're smart, only the best of the best get to be a Mom. In what way are they determined to be the best? I'm guessing many, but a guaranteed category is combat ability. If a kid can take her down, that would be a huge problem. Likely, a scenario where multiple kids are attacking is taught and worked through regularly enough. Assuming she's the best of the Mom's, she can probably take on all of the kids at once and still have a solid chance to win it. With weapons that number is probably less, but you get my point. She's dangerous in every way there is. If it were me, unless I have a couple of Rays or Normans on my side, I wouldn't try taking her on with the number of kids they have, weapons or no.

Considering they haven't gotten anything yet about what the "moms" undergo, the bros are only assuming so you can't blame them. On the other hand, while yes, she is good at combat training, we've never seen her take on multiple opponents. Plus, even if she is strong, the fact that she is female will work against her in terms of upper body strength. With enough kids, who are bloodthirsty and cold enough, and come at her all at the same time, I think they could take her down. All it would take was for one small kid, with a knife to cut her Achilles heel or to get underneath her defense and stab upwards under her ribs, and she's down. She is still only one woman and the moms are trained to have docile kids who love them and have no access to weapons. I don't even think they take into account such a scenario. Maybe one or two rebellious ones, but a crowd or 10 or 12 or 20 kids? Attacking as a mob? I don't think she'd survive.

LOL no. What knives, man? Barehanded there's three 11 year olds, two 10 year olds and a smattering of everything after that, unless you're ready to include toddlers as legitimate threats to an adult.

*spoilers?* Every reactor I've seen so far that weren't readers of the manga are all quick to assume the worst about Ray. And it's a fair assumption to make, but I also was not a manga reader, and I felt there was a lot of nuance in this episode. Like Emma says, "He's not alone now." Ray practically was alone in this fucked up world his whole life and was a spy since he was six. The toll that takes on someone is unbelievable. I mean, his will must be made of steel. And it's not that he's heartless and cruel and willing to sacrifice everyone to survive, watching others get shipped off while he remained safe. If anything, he felt helpless to stop it all. He clearly cares for Emma and Norman immensely - he's the genesis of them finding out the truth, after all - and his whole "you and Emma can die here if you don't do things my way" spiel was clearly said to back Norman into a corner and not an actual reflection of how he really feels (as we see later on). I gathered that Ray was a tragic character more than an antagonistic one, not a terrifying obstacle (though his resolve is super impressive) but a nebulous tritagonist. All these things I thought on my first viewing, and maybe others did as well. I hope they come around to seeing those aspects of Ray as well.

Yeah, I can see the train of thought that thinks "they have numbers AND relative secrecy in which to plan/craft makeshift weapons", but the whole point about Isabella is that A) she was as smart as these kids were once, too, and has only gotten more experience since; and B) she's a better strategist than them ("we never beat her at chess"). Besides all that, personally, I think avoiding violence (for the most part) was to PNL's advantage. Any situation which involves Emma distracting Bella while Ray drops a box on her head is WAY less interesting than what we got.
