I really don't like how Sansa sets the precedent that it's okay to become independent. That creates so many damn problems in the future.

Why though? I think it makes more sense for the kingdoms to split up anyway, and it's not like Bran cares about keeping power. The North split up because they were the only kingdom that was ready to become independent. As the rest of the seven kingdoms start to regain their autonomy, they will also want independence, and Bran will let them. I think it's better that way. I also think that's sort of Bran's role; to watch over the throne until he can finally disband the empire.

If the kingdoms become independent, there's nothing stopping them from warring on each other in the future. As it is right now, the peace rests on the close personal ties between the leading nobles, not on a clear political system or a more balanced structure of power.
