Hængeklumpen

can you guys read the manga, (not from the start)? would be amazing to see you boys react to 1-2 chapters a week :) (it's more of a novel so don't read more or you will go insane)

Zainali

i guess you guys warnings didn't really works, they're watch the OP anyway..meh not a big deal

R_K41

Chapters ? They're gonna read by Volume just like Berserk, boi

Zainali

They gonna read volume? HxH? Boy i do not wanna know how long the streams gonna be..

MurderofBirds

Not to mention, the HxH manga goes on too many hiatuses to warrant them starting and stopping something that clearly has a lack of consistency. (Goes back on hiatus next week)

Neutreu

The existence of this new brother was actually predicted A LONG time before his introduction, so the manga readers knew it would be coming, just not when. I won't say how they theorized his existence until you guys get farther in though. All I can say for sure is that Togashi planned for this character for a very long time.

Kyle

Can you explain how people knew? They don’t read anything here

Monty

hisokas rating system is very flimsy. i woulnd't put much more into it than hisoka wants to fight the zodiacs and illumi. hisoka vs illumi in hisokas head would be more interesting than these zodiacs with un inteteresting personalities

Monty

I have a feeling this ^ will become the next 'kite is shown more in the manga' in the yt comments

Kyle Green

I can't speak to the Manga, Kyle, but in the show, we see her picture twice. In the Killua rescue arc (somewhere in the early 20s) and in Kalluto's picture in episode 97 (or maybe 96; I forget which).

Alejandro Gil

Also the the tour guide from the killua retrieval arc said the zoldycks had 5 boys.

R_K41

@MurderofBirds Berserk suffers from the same inconsistency issue, your point ? There are already 8 Volumes worth of incredible material to catch up to and make theories/discussions vids about. Not to mention that HxH is way more consistent now releasing 10 to 20 chapters a year

SmilePlease

Eh... no? Alluka is a boy. She wants to be identified as a boy and the only one to respect that is Killua. That's why everyone besides him keeps calling her "him" or with neutral pronouns.

Yan Hang

Manga readers predicted there would be a 4th Zoldyck child called Alluka very early because of their names: I-llu-mi -> Mi-llu-ki -> Ki-llu-a ->A-llu-ka-> Ka-llu-to. Ok? It's pretty obvious. And later it was confirmed by the HxH guide book.

Aiskuriimuneko

Don't you mean to say that Alluka is a boy biologically, but she identifies as a girl and thus, Killua uses female pronouns when referring to her while the rest use male pronouns??

Yan Hang

Alluka's gender is still unclear. In the character introduction part of manga Ep341, Alluka was actually described as the 4th "son" of Zoldyck family (the Japanese word "男" was used, which is used specifically for male). In the HxH guide book, the word "弟" (young "brother", not sibling) was used. Also, in manga and TV, Alluka is called "坊ちゃま" by butlers and servants, which is used specifically to describe a male master rather than a female lady. It seems that no one thinks Alluka is a girl except Killua. So the populer theory is Alluka is physically a boy but mentally a girl, and only Killua respects her will.

R_K41

I was never a fan of Alluka, Nanikia's powers were interesting especially it's connection to the Dark Continent, but Alluka's character is just weird and too vague. He's supposed to be biologically a boy, but apparently identifies as a girl, even though Alluka is not mature or experienced enough to make such a decision, taking into account that Alluka had almost zero interactions with the outside world and people to know what he is or what he actually wants. But Killua is ok with that, i guess. Imo if Togashi truly wanted to introduce a trans character into the story, he should've added way more depth into Alluka's character as well as should've made her a conscious adult character instead of a brainless kid, in order to explore a subject like gender identity and do it justice.

Watcherdude65

I really enjoy Pariston as a political antagonist. There's just something fun and unnerving about watching him maneuver and purposefully place obstacles in his road by conceding things and antagonizing others. It reminds of a few other Hunters and how they crave combat and handicap themselves for an enjoyable challenge.

Kyle Green

You do know that plenty of trans people knew even as a child, right? The idea that kids are ignorant of sexuality and sexual identity is a pervasive myth.

R_K41

@Kyle Green That's called gender dysphoria my friend, and it's a disease

Loro Lukic

@Kyle and they end up with an extreme suicidal rate.

bennydelon

I get the feeling that the brothers don't know what the zodiac is

Ace of Blades

Also the idea to shift to a political antagonist was clever to keep the threat feeling real and tensions high. If you can't make a villain stronger than Meruem, make one that's more threatening in a different kind of way entirely.

Watcherdude65

Exactly, I think seeing the political machine and seemingly petty squabbles is a great contrast to the very human and emotional focus at the end of the Ant arc.

Spikà

It's almost over :'(

Watcherdude65

True Hisoka is very much driven by his own interpretation of what will be fun, although I think it is fair to say that we don't know the full extent of Illumi's ability and Hisoka's acknowledgment should be some indication of his potential despite it's bias.

Ace of Blades

Yeah. Considering that Hisoka was confident in his ability to take on Netero and how hilariously fast Hisoka would die in that theoretical encounter, it's safe to say he's an unreliable narrator regarding his own perception of others. Just like a real person, he doesn't have all the answers, which I like. He's driven by what he perceives to be interesting, not looking at a tier list and knowing instantly who's stronger than who.

Jacky Lin
