We have no information on Shiratorizawa's results at the Nationals, that's true, and Ushijima was a member of a U-19 national team. Suga and Kageyama used that switch against Aobajousai if memory doesn't fail me. Too tired for a proper review, but it's a great discussion, so many things on spot! I do want to point out the moment in the very end where Karasuno gets their precious chance ball, and even Tendou is certain that Kageyama's gonna give it to the ace, and yet he trusts Tsukishima to spike it... The feels :") (though he might've predicted the fact that everyone'd think he'd choose the ace lmao) Can't wait for next week!

that sassy Tsukki moment tho ~~

Actually disagree on Oikawa being the most egotistical player in the series (maybe outwardly, but he’s got a deep-seated inferiority-complex, which, while leading him to make rash decisions sometimes, is, along with his simple and pure Hinata/Kageyama-like love for the sport, also the stem of his tremendous motivation and desire for self-improvement. He wouldn’t be half the player he is now if it weren’t for his desire to catch up to and defeat Kageyama and Ushijima) but agreed on almost everything else! The point on Date potentially being really good while Seijoh regress a bit after the 3rd years graduate next year is great too. ALSO OMG YOU GUYS ARE TAKING CAREFUL NOTE OF TSUKKI MY HEART WONT TAKE NEXT WEEK WELL LMAO. This is gonna be one of the worst 7-day waits of the year, ahaha.

If you go back to season one, you can see that the goal of the third years was specifically worded as making it to nationals. This is in contrast to Hinata and Kageyama who both declared their shared dream as getting to the top of the world. Just something neat that I think the writer of Haikyuu did to help soften the blow of "killing off" the third years whenever that may be. I would love to see haikyuu end with Hinata and Kageyama truly becoming number one in the world.

I don't know what to say - great discussion and reaction throughout! This season is a non-stop hype train and I'm all on board for it! I believe at the end when Tendo misreads and Kageyama sends it to Tsukki, I said 'Nice Kill!' after the initial shock wore off. Lol. This season takes my hype to dangerous levels XD

Great reaction! Ushijima is a top 3 spiker and was on the U-19 team representing Japan, but they never revealed how far the team actually made it in Nationals each year. The favorites to win (Itachiyama) were actually brought up during the discussion about the other 2 top aces (Sakusa and Kiryu) during the training camp arc. Also, there was another comment above that addressed this, but the only part I disagreed with is that bit about pride and ego. Oikawa is prideful, but not egotistical. He has pride in his team and his own abilities, because of how hard he's worked and how far they've come together, but if he was truly egotistical, he wouldn't have acknowledged Ushijima's/Kageyama's strength and potential, and wouldn't have been able to use that as a driving force to push himself to be better. That bit of insecurity even led to injury when he let his drive get out of hand, but as he matured and learned to check himself (with Iwa's help), it ended up becoming a strength, as we can see with his insane jump serves. He rejected Shiratorizawa because while he could've won with them and left the "small pond," it wouldn't have been a true victory for him because of their conflicting ideas of what being a true team should be (you'll get more elaboration on this when you learn more about Shiratorizawa and their coach). Oikawa also wouldn't be able to make that connection with his teammates and meet them on every level to draw the best out of each and every one of them if he was actually egotistical. That was the difference between Oikawa and Kageyama, who was actually portrayed as an egotistical king back at Kitagawa Daiichi, to begin with

Suga wouldn't quit volleyball ever imo. He was the one who was most stubborn when teachers were convincing him to quit. "I'm not playing volleyball for merit." I just love the focus they give Tsukki in this episode. You can rea`lly tell they're starting to build him up... "Haikyuu is really good." It is, but you only gave it a 9/10 on MAL. Blasphemy! I feel betrayed lol jkjkjk.

they mansion in season 1 episode 7 that shiratorizawa is one of the top 8 teams in japan
