Where you at waluigi?

I don't want to downgrade your volleyball skills Caleb but one thing is to get 30 serves over the net in casual volleyball but the other is to make this serves effective against good players that play against you in competition. To make the serves effective you need to take risks (targeting corners, lines, net line, certain players, spaces between players, avoiding libero). If your serves are weak and without any meaning then they don't put any pressure on the opponent but if they are strong and tactical then the opponent feels pressure even if you miss the serve. So the serve really isn't the easiest skill in volleyball. It may look easy but pro players put many hours into practicing it to be effective and reliable at the same time.

[spoiler?] do they know what season 3 is only about?

\Yamaguchi's time coming!/ The next episode is literally my favorite in this season!

I don't think you guys give Oikawa enough credit for how good a player he is outside of his "leadership". It's been stated multiple times that he's not just the BEST setter in the prefecture, but also the BEST OVERALL player. Just because he doesn't show it off as much as other players, doesn't mean his skills other than spiking and setting are not also extremely high. If there was ever a player that could fit into any role or any other team, it would be him.

Sen Ogino

They do know it's not as long as the first two seasons though, and in a previous discussion (I think, last episode?) they theorized as to what it could be about, and Jacob speculated that it might just be about Karasuno vs. Shiratorizawa.

RedBoi

Mmmm. I dont think it was ever stated that he was the best overall player.

In Season 1 Ep 14, Coach Ukai is reading off potential threats at the inter-high and mentions "The team's top attacker is their setter, and of course he's also a supreme setter. Their team's ranks include perhaps the best all-around player in the prefecture. That would be Oikawa Toru at Aoba Johsai"

Víctor Colina

I don't understand why the keep treating the rest of the members of aoba johsai like they were nothing without Oikawa. This team is probably the best of the prefecture besides Shiratorizawa.

Andy L

It was clearly stated by Coach Ukai he is the best overall player in the prefecture. In addition, Oikawa is better than Kageyama at EVERYTHING but the tosses (and Kageyama has been touted throughout the show as being good at everything).

Andy L

They're only the best team because of Oikawa. If you take out any other player on that team besides maybe Iwa-chan, they'd still be the same level due to Oikawa's ability to bring out the best of any player. Even Ushiwaka, who has beaten Aoba Johsai at every encounter said it... Aoba Johsai is weak without Oikawa.

Zi Liu

I don't understand why some ppl r so mad in the comments, Kageyama is not just better at "tosses". The setter's job is to distribute the ball in the best way possible, and Oikawa himself admit it that Kageyama is better at this. Ball handling is if not the most important thing in volleyball. Kageyama can make up his communication skills by talking to teammates, but technical skills and talents is not something you can just gain which is why Kageyama surpasses Oikawa in the story.
