SOS Bros React - HunterxHunter Episode 62 - A New Trainer Appears!!!

Man, I love having the Phantom Troupe's investigation to contrast Gon and Killua's moseying journey. But now the duo has become a trio, and this little girl is actually a decently old pro hunter?!? Gotta expect the unexpected with this show... What did you think of the episode? Leave your thoughts in the comments below, we'd love to chat with you! As far as Cards are concerned, I think Hisoka only uses them when he plans to kill someone.

over time, Hunter x Hunter becomes more and more about the whole picture. i found myself knowing so much about its whole world, compare to a lot of other stories.

The beginning is slow but this arc is far from being pointless, you'll see. Togashi loves worldbuilding and he likes to give as much context as possible which I personally love as I don't mind slow (but impactful) arcs and IMO it's for the best in the long term. Also, Togashi is definitely not overcomplicating things, remember that this is a long running anime so some slow-ish episodes for the sake of worldbuilding and detail are necessary (and worth it). I don't remember you complaining about that entire episode revolving around Zepile (ep 48). When it comes to Gon and Killua, this arc is also key for the development of their relationship and it'll serve as a good base for the next arc. I don't know what to say about "Togashi showing off". I personally don't think that's the case here.

The original greed island arc started back in 2003 as an OVA. Its my favorite arc and was the end of the anime until the 2011 remake. IIRC the manga for green island came out in 2001.

Clare

"Its just to much for hunter x hunter" smiles sadly and sweetly, my summer children.

Um without explanation on how everything works there can be NO advancement of the plot. I definitely think they believe the arc will be a certain way so their judging it way to early and believing that these explanations don't have relevance to the plot... You should know by now guys, there is rarely anything in hunter x hunter that goes into detail without reason and "not just because he wants to show of"

or she gets frustrated at wasted potential. unpolished diamonds.

I'm so glad you've finally met Biscuit! She's one of my fave characters of the show! I really think you'll love her a lot, she's great.

Princess Paladin

Whaaaaat? Making baseless assumptions and then making the discussion revolve around those assumptions instead of what's actually in the show? THESE two? Nawwwwwww.

Princess Paladin

Gon has Hatsu. That's what he showed Tzegerra to get in. Ugh. T_T

Can't wait to see with what kind of crazy theories and assumptions they come up in the next arc. It'll be hilarious :')

semblanceofsanity

Yeah sometimes we end up conflating Hatsu with their techniques. We meant to say that Gon has no Hatsu techniques atm.

Can't wait until you get further into the arc. Everything in HxH ties together in some way, and Greed Island is no exception.

My only issue with the bros TBH. They make too many assumptions and talk a lot about how they want/think the story should go. Not a huge deal, but, definitely makes watching parts of discussions hard, especially when they don't read comments on HxH to get clarification. :/

Princess Paladin

But you're right though! That's correct! Hatsu is literally their techniques. Hatsu is their "special moves" and "powers". Like Bungee Gum and Kamehameha. It's "the actual expression of how they use their Nen", as opposed to Manipulator, Enhancer, etc. which are just broad categories that a Nen power would fall under. You are 100% correct in thinking Hatsu is their techniques, because that's what they are. We haven't seen what Gon can do yet, because it was off-screen, but he has something, because he showed it off!

Princess Paladin

I get what you mean! Whatever Gon did is Hatsu, but you meant it's not properly a "technique" yet. But "just pump it full of Nen" is Enhancer techniques. it's like Uvo's Hatsu! "Big Bang Impact" was basically just a punch with a bunch of Nen enhancement. Enhancer techniques ARE "I yell an attack name loudly and pump it full of nen juice and now it's stronger" or "I do a normal thing but better because Nen".

Melchizedes

Shalnark is so good that he can find a way to hack a game in the real world

Euel Caringal

w8 for the next episode and they go completely 180! It's like they haven't watch 60 episodes of HxH before. XD
