Hisoka won't allow Paku the memory reader to touch him, and the troupe will be hesitant to act. After Chrollo's analysis, it is revealed that should Hisoka give any info out then there is a chance of his death. 'Info being revealed' could include viewing his memories, since there is no specification of what exactly it means 'to reveal'. Particularly if Hisoka voluntararily accepts to be touched by Paku, then there is a chance of the ability being activated. Ofcourse there is the Fact that hisoka will never allow that since that means his death sentence .

Princess Paladin

Here's hoping they eventually realize that copying and stealing are not the same thing!

Princess Paladin

Sadly, they won't see this. They don't read the comments. Maybe a mod will tell them. If using a chain on Kurapika himself might trigger the death condition on using on non-spiders, it should be common sense that conveying information through memory reading could trigger the death condition on the imaginary chain Hisoka is pretending to have.

Kingjasco

They mention people's nen types at the end of the outro so you should watch till after so you know in definite terms.

Hyperion

Chrollo is 25 years old. (Mods pass it on)

"Oh! that's a death flag." -Jacob, 2018.

Hope they can see this comment. Also, Neon fainted when Chrollo hit her, and we don't know what happened to her after that. Therefore, Chrollo's ability might have much more conditions than what we saw.

bennydelon

Well they know now for sure, after all the drama on Discord last week lol It's just that they probably recorded this reaction before all that happened

Clear Lime

I'm surprised that they almost called it a plot hole. The writer couldn’t be so stupid that he forgot about Pakunoda’s ability. I hope they will try more to figure out why the writer let something happen before assuming it to be a plot hole.

next episode hype, really builds up the tension

If you call every other interaction in an episode a "death flag" eventually you have to be right! So impressive. Also, as others have said, it seemed like common sense to me at the time that if Kurapika isn't even sure if using his Judgement Chain on himself would activate his power, then gaining info through mind reading would definitely be in question, too. Especially if Hisoka was willing. But then, this is a pretty cool detail that isn't covered, to be fair. I would have liked a minute long discussion between Chrollo and Hisoka on the merits of this, considering specificity and clarification are HxH's bread and butter.

Roma

You are so wrong right now is hilarious.

Waluigi

Take a shot every time they mention a "death flag"

Princess Paladin

Yeah, they do this sort of thing... A lot. If they make up enough wild theories, eventually one of them will be right. That's not thoughtful analysis, just assumption and guessing. I think they take the fact that they're smart for granted and assume that whatever they come up with is right because they are smart. It blinds them to the possibility of being outright wrong regularly, and in their desperation to say they "called" something instead of just watching and enjoying it, they will insist they were right even when they weren't or when one of their theories was just one among many. I love them, and they ARE smart, and they are frequently correct (to an almost frustrating degree at times), but sometimes their ability to analyze suffers for their assumption that they will always have the right analysis.

tl;dr: people went on and on about Chrollo stealing abilities and if that should be considered as spoiler, due to the fact we haven't seen confirmation in the show (second encounter with Neon way later in the show). New rule: any and all clarifications should go through mods and not to Caleb & Jacob directly.

Minashiro Soushi

Come on, Scilla's thing was such a textbook death flag, I'd be surprised if they haven't mentioned it :)

Princess Paladin

It was confirmed. It was confirmed in every single time Chrollo or anyone else talked about his ability. It was not a spoiler. They were just wrong and worked off of a wrong assumption even though it was outright stated what the ability was, repeatedly and consistently. So, it wasn't a spoiler, and I don't understand why people overreacted since it's explicitly said outright, from the very first mention. x_x

Princess Paladin

...You mean Squala? And his "textbook death flag" was "say good bye to someone". No, that's not a death flag unless you really really try to force it to be. Other characters say bye all the time. They also called what Kurapika did a "death flag", They've been calling death flags on lots of characters. It's like Derrick said: If they call everything a death flag, then yes, eventually they'll be right.

Minashiro Soushi

Squalla, yes! Gee, at least got some letters right, I remember him mostly as "that dog guy" ;) And no, I don't agree with that it wasn't obvious "flag". That scene was the equivalent of some random soldier in American war movie whipping out his family photo and declaring in a stoic voice "When this mission is over I will get back to my wife and something-something happy life". We have two characters with almost no depth or development going into "romantic farewell" mode, in parallel with main antagonistic group deciding to go on offensive. Yup, someone gonna die soon, and after him telling everyone "I'll be fine, dogs will protect me" it's pretty much set in stone. Good luck fighting the Troupe with dogs :) :)

It was confirmed by Silva Zoldyck. "Careful, old man. He can steal your techniques.", Silva said to Zeno in episode 52, right before they started their fight with Chrollo. They got the idea of "copying" instead of stealing because they were talking to each other when Silva said that.
