This is going to be one hell of a ride! Monster is definitely one of my favourite manga. Urasawa is one of the best storytellers in the manga industry. Readind Monster or 20th Century Boys makes you really understand that the most important thing is not the plot itself but how well you can narrate it.

Urasawa is a legend, no doubt about it. I’d like to see Billy Bat get an adaptation someday but that probably won’t happen, unfortunately.

Wooooo! I love Monster! Been waiting for this all morning. Some things I wanted to mention: 1) I can’t believe you guys didn’t mention the ED! That unsettled me way more than the little girl’s “Kill him.” It’s so creepy, but in the future, I suggest you guys watch the ending closely for any changes (I don’t think this is a spoiler; just wanna make sure you don’t miss it!) 2) Loving the theories, guys! I’m glad that you guys have been told that this is a slooowww burn, so it might take a while for the puzzle pieces to come together, but I look forward to seeing you piece them one by one. 3) I’ve only watched this show once a long time ago, so I don’t really remember much of what happened except for the major plot points, which makes me so excited to rewatch this with you!

Never watched this show before and excited to watch it with the SOS Bros. Wanted to point out that, the work the girl said in Japanese “korose” does not have a gender or direction. The girl might have asked the doctor to kill her or she might want the doctor to kill the brother or it could be some thing like “burn them all” from game of thrones. Let’s see how this turns out. Cool.

Here it's an interesting look at what we can see in language. I think technically, considering she is German, she should be speaking German, and thus, there would have been a gender associated with what she said. So, it's in this interesting space of the language it was written compared to the language intended. Or perhaps, I just find it fascinating...lol

Its only the first episode. There's not a great amount to discuss. They're doing fine. They talked about all that one can really theorize on at this point.

9:52 She said "Kill". You are not supposed to know whether she was trying to say "Kill (me)" or "Kill (him)". You might want to watch dub. I've got a feeling sub is going to be terrible for this anime.

As much as I'd like to have a reason to watch LWA myself, Jacob have already seen the series which for me instantly makes any other option better by default. That's just me, but I really wasn't a fan of half-blind discussions before.
