Gravity! f yeee!

If you are in the box, and you go up you still die/feel effects the box just brings you back to life.

Pretty sure it was mentioned in one of the previous episodes that Lyza and Ozen's group were attacked by foreign excavators. Lyza settled it by annihilating them or something. Calling their culture "brainwashing" isn't quite accurate considering how the living conditions are very different from your own. Riko liked Ozen because she simply recognised that this white whistle was a great person in the context of this world.

Don't worry, it won't get "too dark" *runs away laughing maniacally*

I also honestly don't see how Lost "kicks this show's ass" in character development. So far, every character in this show stays loyal to the context and culture that was built up. They also have unique and interesting designs.

None of the characters in this show are particularly... right in the head. It's definitely a product of the Abyss in some way. For the cavers, the deeper they go, the more physical and psychological stress it places upon them, so it really shouldn't be too surprising that White Whistles (like Ozen) are essentially actual monsters barely holding on to their humanity born of their delving efforts. For the people on the surface, it's being so near a corruptible area, rife with people who've been subjected to the stresses of the Abyss. Their actions and efforts may really be quite deplorable by our standards but for their circumstance. Really wish we could see full-length reactions for this show. There's so much going on in every episode. Buckle up. We're goin' caving.

There is no theory connecting gravity with electromagnetic, weak or strong nuclear forces. This is actually one of the unsolved problems in physics called Grand Unified Theory, that is a not yet existent theory that unifies all 4 fundamental forces.

Should’ve named this episode “Lost in the Abyss” :P

Plot twist: Reg's arms are the smoke monster!

Glad you saw how Ozen is awesome after all! Or I hope at least. It's hard to tell since all you were talking about was her being "redeemed" instead of recognizing she was in the right the entire time. Though, since this is a recurring issue, I'm going to diverge from my resolution not to complain/correct as much: It's not "normalized abuse brainwashing". She just accepted and understood the reasons why Ozen did what she did. These are children going into place where there are monsters that will kill them. They can not be treated like children on that basis. They are taking on adult responsibilities and wishing to do adult things. That means they can not be mommy-swaddled and patted on the head and given candy. They are very clearly not prepared for what's coming. Like, Marulk even says it. They aren't coming back from this. This is a suicide. Another thing that is not just you guys, so please don't think I'm ragging on you. It's a recurring thing with lots of reactors who don't grasp this concept: This is NOT EARTH and they have VERY DIFFERENT STANDARDS. These two things combined mean that "testing to see if they are even prepared for what they are going into" makes complete sense, and that includes using a level of physical force. Coddling them is NOT CONSTRUCTIVE IN THIS WORLD. They have to be ready to face terrible things and fight for survival. This is not a matter of "oh, abuse made me strong!" NO. They LITERALLY NEED TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE THEMSELVES IN A FIGHT and not be taken down by harsh words or THEY WILL DIE. I recommend taking five or twelve steps back and trying not to think about this world in the context of our own world as much (I know it's hard, because we on;y have our world to use as a basis). Things are different. People are different. Living conditions are different. Motivations are different. Culture is different. Psychology is different. Everything is different. If you keep doing as some have and thinking you're oh so clever by reading all these hidden Earth-based social commentary meanings into things when they don't even apply to this world, you're going to miss what's actually going on instead of appreciating how it's doing things so completely differently from our world. It's not "taking elements from our world" it's "doing things completely different from our world". Would you allow two kids to go into a murder hole full of hell beasts just because they really want to? No! But if they were a bit older, in this world, they would have let them no problem. The desire to go down there and risk their lives and sanity is "normal" in this world. THAT is what is normalized. Exploration of the Abyss despite its dangers and humanity-stealing properties. They have accepted the duality of life and death. It's not about abuse. It's about completely different standards by which they measure the world, separate from those we use.

Princess Paladin

Yeah, these two are smart, but there's definitely subjects they know more about than others. Physics isn't one of them. XD

SuperTallBird

There is a lot about this series that you two are failing to understand, because you will assume one thing and then continue to make assumptions based off of it. As soon as you analyze something, take a step back and analyze something else. The more you dig into the abyss, the more it takes away from you. Just enjoy the series. There is a lot it's going to that is going to break away from the boxes you try to put it into. Anyway the most important part is you guys enjoy the series for what it does.

Princess Paladin

Yeah, I've never seen Lost, but nothing I've heard about it interests me at all and the ending was spoiled for me long before I ever had the chance to see it. But deciding that Lost "kicks this show's ass" in characterization when they haven't SEEN all of Made In Abyss yet is really premature to a shocking extent. But I guess prematurely "calling' things and then being wrong but saying they were right is pretty much the standard at this point. XD
