You guys really put it well when you say the episode asks you of youve thought about your own death- ive yet to see an episode of television that captures this fear of death, the inevitability of it, and concept of someone fully disappearing and how terrifying that is in this way. Not to mention how it protrays secrtariats suicide. Did you know thats an incredibly common feeling that people who try to commit suicide off a bridge feel? The ones who live say that when theyre falling they realize how fixable their lifes problems are, compared to the infinite nothingness of death. Its all beautifully put together, and really captures the absurd yet familiar vibe that dreams give you at the same time

There was a documentary I saw once about attempts to cut down on the number of people using the Golden Gate Bridge as their suicide locale, and it specifically delved into that: the people who survived their jumps off of the bridge were pretty much unanimous in talking about their regrets as they fell. I always wondered if the writing team for this episode had seen that same documentary.
