I'm not gonna say anything more, bc of future events, but Usami is in no way the cheapest pawn. He may be the most uncomplicated, but he is valued. I don't think he's projecting any feelings of inferiority onto Ogata that much, bc Usami knows and appreciates his place as Tsurumi's pawn, but he is bothered by Ogata trying to throw a wrench into Tsurumi's plans, "as if he's good enough" to oppose his cherished Tsurumi. And of course, he is incredibly jealous and covetous for Tsurumi's attention.
