Karasuma being absolutely terrifying. Tenma killing herself out of despair. Harima utterly embracing being the heel. Fucking Gun-Kata. The whole class getting together to mock the everlasting shit out of Hanai. I think these two episodes are some of my favorite anime moments. There is just something utter amazing about how they are played almost completely seriously. As if the creators just suddenly went "And heres how the cast of this wacky rom-com would do in a deadly battle royale game" and then showed them brutally murdering each other. I will say I prefer the English dub of it. Mainly because English Tenma has a very ditzy voice, so it just add an extra level of horror, and comedy, to the whole thing for me. But that whole moment is just so amazingly dark. I will say, I never took the movie part as the competition being called into question. My understanding of it was that Itoko simply filmed the whole thing and edited it together as a movie for her own entertainment. Because the kids ended up taking it way more serious than she first expected. In the same vein, I always thought the blood was paint.
